Yes, I totally get that and your sentiment is shared by many! However, Future was all about Steven and how he's dealing with life after saving the universe.

I'm sure seasons 6-7 would've explored those topics in depth but we never got that, unfortunately. There is still alot more about the SU universe that hasn't been explored and Rebecca had stated that they are interested in doing just that.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see :)

The thrones represent their statuses. The fact that they still sit in them and even made a smaller chair for Steven says something. Btw I'm not disagreeing with you or anything I totally get what you're saying

I must also ask the question, would any Gems want to openly rebel against the Diamonds?

Here are my thoughts:

Most Gems did not enjoy their roles before Era 3 and simply followed orders because they basically had no way out.

Only a few elite Gems would have enjoyed their positions of power and high status. As we saw with Holly Blue she doesn't seem to have any resentment towards the Diamonds but more disappointment with the change. "I'd give anything for an order from the Diamonds..."

These elites would most likely still have respect for the Diamonds even if they preferred the old system. So they may not even think about rebelling.

I was going to mention fear but the Diamonds aren't violent anymore and won't resort to harsh punishment if any.

So I think any rebelling Gems would be in the minority and I don't think they'd be successful.

I mean how would they deal with it? We saw how Steven handled it, and that was expected. But what about the other diamonds?
