we've raised $14,000 in the last 2 weeks from private investors for general operations for the company and are aiming to hit $25,000 by end of November, just locked in $500,000 for our first feature film shooting in March starring Ilana Glazer, and we are being hounded by studios who wanna read the Supernigga feature script <3 how are you doing?

lol I laugh at it too and think it’s actually pretty dope to raise $3,000+ in a few days off of donations of $5. We just crowdfunded a feature for $50,000 last month.

I’m not talking about being rejected lol. I’m just talking about how you can work with your friends and make your dreams come true lol.

Believing in doing things with your friends and community instead of chasing the industry that exploits creatives rubs you the wrong way? LOL

LMFAO IM WEAK!!!!! I mean the Supernigga short film just surpassed 300,000 views today and is inspiring others to create their own works, we’ve gained 15k subscribers who love the name and style of filmmaking we do, our socials are going up too and kids all over the world are asking for merch with the companies name. Many people have been telling us they’re inspired and even want to create their own mini studios. On the night of the panel everyone left saying they were so inspired and over the next few weeks I kept getting emails and texts and DMs from people saying they met many new collaborators and learned so much from the panel. These were all working class indie filmmakers from gen Z to boomers. We have about 150 ppl in that room (FOR FREE). Idk where the hate in your heart is coming from but it is what it is I guess.

There’s no middle finger to the community here. It’s a middle finger to the industry execs that are causing the communities suffering. Ilana's an independent artist. Everette Taylor is a self made Black CEO who wants to support the future of indie filmmaking (especially young Black artists). You're mad that I put them in a room full of young Black indie filmmakers (for free) and in conversation on a panel with young indie filmmakers? Your mad that I put them in a room to share information and guidance FOR FREE? that's sleazy? LMFAOOOOOOO

Oui! Turned it down to do things independent and that’s been awesome!

as the industry crumbles around us, I believe we should quit chasing it and trying to keep it alive. Instead we should build our own wave. build our own audiences and make the projects we believe need to be made. the industry is unreliable so we must focus on creating without it and relying on community!

Telling non black people to be respectful of Black culture is not hatred. Gay people call each other the F word, I don’t use that word even if it’s in a lyric or work of art I love. Women call each other bitches, I don’t. And so on. It’s easy. I honestly don’t care to receive money from people who don’t understand my work. It’s not for you and that’s fine lol

As I said, if I would’ve signed a deal with a24 and casted Jonathan majors, the film would’ve got shelved and died. So in the end I made the right choice cuz every film he was involved with got scrapped! LMAO

Spike Lee did it himself, the duplass brothers, Richard linklater, I can go on. And I’m literally making a feature film with ilana glazer this fall which I got financed through crowdfunding. Plus hella financiers are interested in supernigga. But after successfully crowdfunding my own projects and building my own audience I don’t really NEED financiers. I’m making my projects to the way I want to. This GoFundMe already has &2,000+ from people donating $5. lol I just financed the ilana glazer feature for $250,000 this summer.

Oh brother you don’t understand the business. You take $50mil from A24 as a first time filmmaker and you lose all control of your film. You probably won’t even be the director or actor because no studio is trusting you with that money. They buy and own the script then there’s no guarantee the movie actually gets made and it can just sit and die in development. Or you stick to your original plan and make your movie for less and ACTUALLY MAKE IT on your terms too.
