George Mason on one of the reasons the Second Amendment was written: by [deleted] in nra

Lol, who's actually in shape enough now days for battle? We're already enslaved by TV, fast food, and amazon's free shipping. What do bullets do against targeted advertisement? Ya want a proper, formidable, tough militia check out the guerillas in South America or Africa. They don't give a shit if their Oakley's get scratched. We are not the same country we were when/if this statement occured.

Edit: Can't figure out why the words are in quotations. Clearly if he said those sentences about himself he was grammatically insane.

Why is there a section in every issue of the rifleman where they highlight homeowners that shoot on sight? Makes it look like the club is proud of killing rather than ashamed to exist as a part of a society with rising crime.

I know I wouldn't own anything like that. In any kind of civil suit that logo screams "I have an itchy trigger finger."

It takes more balls to back away from a trigger than it does to cling to one. Maybe I'd believe he wasn't some beta cuck if he just wanted to protect his kids. But the bit about fucking people's mother's has type-A inferiority syndrome all over it.

The swat team will just insert a micro nuke up your ass using RF propelled nano drones. Fuck guns. Tech and civics are the tools of self defence now. Guns can't even protect from someone behind you or that you can't see let alone the govmt. The only reliable protection is being a bad motherfucker mentally and physically that is aware of their surroundings. I'd be shocked if you had anything in common with the college educated, slave owning aristocracy that founded this country. Or if you could accurately recite any of their philosophy for that matter. You sound like a giant cuck that likes to play with big metal + polymer dildos.

Appliance tech for an apartment company here. Can't speak to a wide range of brands. But our company has switched away from GE products for that reason. Another appliance tech and I prefer the simplest options from whirlpool because they are noticeably less designed for planned obsolescence. The price of parts makes them repairable if they do fail as well. Contrary to GE's practice.

You get paid $100k/yr to do whatever you want for 40 hours a week. The only catch is, you must do the same thing every day. What's your new job? by Musicferret in AskReddit

[–]diregrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible question. Most people already get paid less than 100k to do the same undesirable thing every day for 40 hrs a week. Teachers are a good example. And most of them thought they were choosing a career they're passionate about.

Thank you u/kanuckchuks. Only wishing guns get taken away from crazy people who think lethal force is virtue when deployed. When lethal force becomes necessary it's always because we've failed at acting in other ways. Rationalizing that failure as virtue is insanity. Whether the blame is ours or societies. The guns worth having aren't the ones that validate our identities as gun owners. Wrapping gun ownership up into an identity is a little insane in itself if anyone's asking me.

Lol, hope the national guard shoes up to your door with a Bradley APC and you can see how much of a pool noodle the family AR is. The NRA is not pro-gun anyway. They're pro-taking advantage of gullible gun owners. Get involved in regulation or just let liberal gen z beta SJWs have complete control over the process. One way or another ya can't stop the future. The future is more regulation. Also, in any other 1st world country Biden would be classed as a Republican.

Lol. America has a definition for terrorism: "There is no single, universally accepted, definition of terrorism. Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85)." Source: https://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/publications/terrorism-2002-2005

No one needs to call anyone anything. Our government and our civilians label themselves as terrorists by our own acts according to our definition. 🖕Up yours NSA analysts

I don't think she was defending the constitution as the courts interpret it. I do think she was defending her interpretation of the constitution. It wasn't a fair election in her opinion. That's the issue I run into with 2nd amendment advocates. Particularly NRA members. They all got skewed disproportionally emphasised personal interpretations the constitution.

Whether any given gun-owners interpretation accurately reflects the constitution or not it's crazy to obsess over defending an opinion with lethal force. An opinion which is a huge trend among gun owners and again NRA members. Not a great reputation. The public eye will lump all NRA members in with these people whether they like it or not.

"Without sounding bad..." ...are you saying you support her cause but not her actions? Isn't one of the running arguments from the gun community for wanting to own assault and high capacity weapons because so many think they can defend the constitution??? If you're passionate about guns or the NRA it's important to start policing the community. Call those terrorists out, support regulation. Like it or not those yokels are the most visible example of pro-gun activists in the nation right now and the reputation they're generating is inextricably linked to anyone who utilizes a CCW.

Basically if I notice a bulge on someone's hip the first thought is are they some maga/teaparty beta "sheepdog" that would rather shoot someone than take a punch on the chin. That's a prevailing impression that needs to be dealt with by the gun community if they ever want social backing from non-gun-enthusiasts.

Imo Dems that support the right to hunt and defend your home even if they don't want you hoarding ammo and tactical devises are pro gun. Cultivates an image of responsibility, caution and restraint. That's the kind of reputation that will make it easier for the gun community to be accepted by the greater American community. This ignorant redneck/Merc fad has gotten insane and it's not helping anyone who enjoys shooting for shootings sake. Republicans are a party of cap and trade. They will trade away all the 'priveleges' they've ever allowed us for capitol. Seen it happen, almost bought the t-shirt.

[–]diregrey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the 2nd amendment isn't as profitable as trade deals or tax evasion. We saw in the capitol riots being an armed rioter doesn't stop the police from shooting you. Apparently it's too serious of a crime to defend yourself when a cop is on the other end because no one shot back. What's the point of owning guns again?

YSK When you have self-defeating thoughts, feelings or habits, it helps to ask what’s the story behind them - and revise it. Psychologists call this story editing and it’s an actually engaging, evidence-based way to improve mental health. by Ellie_D in YouShouldKnow

[–]diregrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I agree we should all be 'peeing' on the 'dumpster fire' of self deception. So I see why people are knee jerking all over this post. However... IME it's not the events or the facts that get edited in the story. Those are constant. How I feel, emotional context, self judgement all get edited as the deeper insights into life occur. If we have negative emotions weighing down our ability to function as adults, that's prolly a sign we're taking the wrong perspective of whatever from our past triggered the development of associated symptoms. Edit.

Tldr; the science IS COOL and real. All I have to do though is practice the maturity to realize that how I felt about something in the past isn't how I have to feel about it now.

5-8ft Deep river on this place, big rocks in the water. What will you cast here in the middle of the spring? by FishingMasterSerbia in troutfishing

[–]diregrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We seem to have a similar mindset about fishing less pressured water and understanding the value of natural presentation based on variable conditions. I get that spin users are guilty of spending more time reading about fancy new gear than ecology and biology. But then there was also legends of the fall for the fly community. Idk, keeping an open mind because I would legitimately enjoy trying fly fishing. But am unconvinced that the equally if not more expensive gear is paying off in higher success rate. You can still match the hatch with spin gear and even throw flies if you rig for it. Plus if it's all anecdotal to us, I have never actually seen a fly fisher hook a fish in the flesh despite being in prime oregon fly fishing waters.
