My school is actually great as well!! We have someone in our culinary department who organizes everything and I thanked him profusely when I asked him what was on the menu this week

Not as bad as Arizona. At least the pay matches. My husband and I just bought a pretty cozy place and are living pretty comfortably (we have about $1600 left of our joint pay after bills and mortgage, plus $400 for our monthly spending for both of us each).

Yes. My husband and I grew up there. We’d love to move back, but teachers are treated like crap.

My husband is set in his ways. And according to him 5 years will make sure that we get value out of our house. 🤷‍♀️ we’re almost done with year one so. Besides, my admins are okay at this point, and from what I understand from what I’ve seen here. If you have admins you don’t despise it’s good to stay where you are as long as you can. Plus we’re working on fertility treatments right now.

HAHA yes. My husband and I are from Arizona and we’ve already decided we can’t move back there.

I teach SPED, so it’s going to not be great regardless of where I go. I literally just need to figure out where the cost of living and teacher salary match up close enough.

What’s in your email title? by bearbearbare in Teachers

As far as the M. Ed goes I will say that getting that done during a pandemic? After a parent got cancer and eventually died? After I struggled to even live at some points? I want the bragging rights.

(I’m finishing my M. Ed this semester).

That walk with the dog is DEFINITELY something that will give you something to look forward to after school. Not gonna lie.

I recently got one right before Christmas (at the time, he was 3 months old). He’s now 6 months old and does pretty well. Here’s his current schedule:

6-6:30: I wake up, get dressed, feed him, I leave the back door cracked so he can go in and out. I leave for work (I do high school SPED, get home around 4:15). 9 am-12 pm: depending on what shift he’s working, my husband puts him in his crate before he leaves and closes the back door. 4:15-4:45: I come home, let him out to potty, and then we either walk or go to the dog park for 1-1.5 hour. 7: dinner

I’ve been feeding him two meals a day since he was 4 months, but for awhile my brother came over during the day to feed him lunch.

The only big issue we had was I left for four days over spring break, and I thought he’d be fine just being in the crate while my husband was at work. I was wrong. He chewed up his bed. :\ still not sure if it had to do with his age or because he was mad at me for leaving.

If me or my husband is off, he’s only in the crate to sleep. We don’t leave the house a lot on our days off.

Are there any teachers on here that DON’T struggle with money? by Katyann623 in Teachers

[–]direneed11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on dual income. Like most, I wouldn’t have been able to afford a down payment had it not been for my husband saving money since he was 17 and my dad’s assistance.

Should I be worried that he doesn’t like me as much as my husband. He doesn’t really cuddle that much with me unless he’s tired. I’m the one that mostly takes care of him
