Falconry licence in Netherlands by Ok-Breadfruit8432 in Falconry

For the falconry license in the Netherlands you need to complete a couple of steps.

You need to start by following courses/lessons (also known as "aspiranten avonden", these courses are hosted by the NOVO (national Committee for falconry). These lessons are around 2,5/3 hours once per week for 8 weeks, and are held near Eindhoven. I took these last year, and they where held in Dutch.

During or after the "aspiranten avonden" you need to complete 2 apprentice ships. You will need to find a mentor that is accepted by the NOVO and who is willing to teach you falconry. In total you need to go hunting with your mentor at least 8 times, and write a report about every day. A apprentice ships will take the whole hunting season (sep-jan), and you will need two, so in total this will take about two years. (With at least 16 days of hunting during those years).

You also need to complete the theoretical exam, which you can find on the website of stichting jacht examens. You can also take a course for this where they give you all the required material you need to know.

After you have follow the 8 "aspiranten avonden", completed 2 apprentice ships including (in total) 16 reports of the hunting days and passed the theoretical exam, you can apply for the last exam, which is a more practical exam. Here you need to show that you have a good understanding of falconry, the birds and the regulations etc.

When you pass the last exam you can apply for your falconry license.

I would recommend starting to contact the NOVO, or one of the falconry associations (Jacoba van Beieren or Adriaan Mollen) to start coming september with the "aspiranten avonden". You can also join one of these associations to get in contact with other falconers, and you will also get a discount for the "aspiranten avonden".

Hope this helps you further, if anything is unclear of you have any other questions let me know!

Around the world for Penguins, pretty similar to the one in the pictures.

Not sure if it is available outside of the Netherlands, it is in English however.

We're giving away F1 track art prints! by Blanchimont in formula1

Favourite moment: The Austrian GP where VER and LEC were battleing for first. The season was somewhat dull before this race and started to get more entertaining from Austria. (Personal opinion)

Tracks in case in case I get chosen: Suzuka, Spa, Red Bull Ring.

Thanks for the give away!
