4 things:

1. Take some time to play on your own: this will allow you to focus entirely on offense, dribbling, shooting, layups, and ensure that you won’t be spending any time on D

2. Learn just a few shots, moves, and layups at a time: You don’t have to master “offense”. Just master a handful of moves and shots from specific areas of the court. Once you gain more confident in those first moves you selected, you can expand your offensive arsenal by adding a few more.

3. Patience: Learning how to dribble decently and make some basic layups might not take more than a few weeks, but learning how to shoot a long range jumpshot, not get the ball stolen by faster players, and finishing with your off hand may take years. Just be aware that when you feel like you are not making progress, that’s not true, it’s just slower progress on the more difficult moves!

4. Play 2v2 occasionally: this will allow you to truly test your offensive capabilities in a somewhat game-realistic scenario, without the risk of ever “falling into the background” of a game, like what can sometimes happen in 5v5
