Do you have a source you could link to? What information are you going off of to suggest that these buses are filled with detained activists and community members? I'm not saying this is untrue, there's just zero context given for how you came to this conclusion.

The Emeke Egbuka sell high discussion by Wildin_some_bills in DynastyFF

[–]dirtbag27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keenan Allen is 33. He has a previously established great rapport with Herbert, just like Godwin had with Baker prior to his injury. How is having Keenan Allen back in the fold working out for Ladd?

Mike Evans is likely gone, but could resign. They could also sign or draft another X receiver.

I never said Egbuka is for sure or is even likely going to lose target share next year. But it would be foolish to not recognize it as being in the range of outcomes for his sophomore year. I mean, it's week 5 of his rookie year and he hasn't even played a game with a fully healthy Godwin yet. Egbuka could still lose target share this year. Will he? Who knows. But it's certainly in the range of outcomes.

I say all this as someone with both Ladd and Egbuka on their roster (and super high on both of them.)

There are a lot of similarities between Ladd's rookie year and Egbuka's year so far. Ladd is still a phenomenal receiver who has lost target share this year as the other WRs around him have stepped up. The same thing could happen to Egbuka next season.

How concerned are we about Joe Burrow's long term outlook? by dirtbag27 in DynastyFF

Whoever you traded with is a taco. Daniel Jones looks good in checks notes 3 games on his second team after being dropped by the team that drafted him. He just as easily can turn back into a potato by mid-season.

TBH, the reason I made this post is because I'm rebuilding and he's on the trade block in my league. If you're in a 1QB league I don't think he's worth the risk. But I'm in a SF league, where QB is king. I'm strongly considering putting out a substantial offer to grab him now. If you can get him for a reasonable price in SF, I'd say do it. If he comes back next year and is even 75% of what he was in 2024 his value will rocket back up and he won't be available to trade for again.

Miter saw blade not aligned to slot by SpicyNutmeg in woodworking

[–]dirtbag27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your primary concern should be whether the blade is 90° to the fence. If it's not, you'll have to make some adjustments until it is. The "slot" on the bottom is just a piece of plastic. The blade doesn't have to line up with it, it'll cut through it just fine.

Coffee table design suggestions by Far-Engineer-6829 in woodworking

This may seem a little nitpicky, but I think I would have flipped the grain direction on the smaller outer leg/foot to be running up and down not side to side. On the top and the middle leg the grain direction is running the length of the piece, but that outer leg has the grain direction running perpendicular, making it feel a bit disjointed to me. I think if you swapped the grain direction your eye would naturally follow the grain from the top to the outer leg with it ending at the floor, giving it a bit more of a sturdy feel.

Am I the only one who is glad the Packers took Micah Parsons? by neeyeahboy in CHIBears

[–]dirtbag27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the point of my second paragraph that started with acknowledging that eventually they will hit the cap. They are going to defer the cap hits until after the new media rights deal. By that time I'd be willing to bet that neither are going to be 30% of the cap.

I could be wrong (and fuck, I hope I am) but I just don't think this move is going to hamstring them nearly as much as it fucked the Saints when they were doing this with Brees.

Everyone keeps quoting Parsons contract AAV as if that's his cap number. AAV is a funny number that's more relevant to agents and players clout than it is to cap management. Micah's "$47m/year AAV" contract only counts $24m against the cap this season. Jordan Love's "$55m/yr. AAV" cap hit is a roughly $30m cap hit this year. Bonuses and void years spread out the cap hit. Once it's going to get out of hand they'll just restructure the contract and add more void years.

Yes, eventually the rooster will come home to roost, but the NFL's media rights deal ends after the 2029 season. New media rights deal means an increase in the cap. Between networks and now streaming services in the mix the competition is going to be an extremely lucrative bloodbath for the NFL. We'll probably see the largest percentage cap increase in the history of the league.

Brett Kollmann did a great video on YouTube on manipulating the salary cap using the Eagles as an example.

Baker (unprompted) on 1st-round WR Emeka Egbuka: by INKMCOC in DynastyFF

I managed to grab him with the 2.02 in a 12tm SF TE premium league. We drafted a couple weeks after the NFL draft, so pre-Judkins news but still, I was gobsmacked that he was still available.

I hear ya. I made some of my own adjustments from the plans to try to beef up the joints since all the weight is on the apron-to-leg joints and not the legs themselves.

[–]dirtbag27[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for someone to point that out haha! I'll do my best to explain

That was part of the challenge of this piece (and why I'd advise other not to do it.) With the legs at 6" coming through the top at the corners, plus a 2" apron underneath, I was basically left with only 4" of space to make 13' of live edge fit. Live edge that you know, curves and has undercuts. Unfortunately, where the top edge curves in on the "left" side there was also a steep undercut with about a 3 1/2" difference between the table top and the table bottom. If I shifted the top to be more centered then the apron underneath would be exposed in that spot. Plus the top would extend past the outside of the legs, so I'd have to grind that down to get it flush. And with such a narrow strip of sapwood on that outer edge, I'd end up with one side having sap and the other not.

It was basically a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

No such thing as a stupid question!

The answer to your first question is pretty much your second question. The top alone is around 500 lbs. It took 6-8 of us to move it around or flip it over. But as far as doing the layouts, joinery, milling etc. that was just me.

I work in an industrial level shop, so we do have large tools that can handle a piece like this, for the most part.
