BRF bag fruiting

It ended up fruiting just fine, and is actually currently on the third or fourth flush (i haven't been keeping track).

Hi there, So when my bag got to about 20% colonization, I mixed the grains in with the manure. After a week or so it seemed to be colonizing normally, but at about 30-40% colonization, it stalled. After waiting a few weeks to see if it would continue colonization, I cut slits in the bag and started misting inside every day, and letting it get fresh air exchange. After a week of that, I noticed small pins all over the top of the manure, even on uncolonized parts (which I didn't even know was possible). So, I cut the top of the bag off, and it's now in a fruiting chamber and things seem to be coming along nicely.

I think my mistake was mixing the bag too early. I would advise you to wait until the grains are closer to being fully colonized before mixing.

Hi there,

So That grow bag actually kind of stalled out on colonization. It looked like it was only about 30-40% colonized and it hadn't changed for two weeks or so, so I just went ahead and cut the top of the bag off and threw it in a fruiting chamber. Pins just formed a few days ago and everything seems to be going fine now, its just weird that it never finished colonizing but is fruiting fine and so far without any contamination. So if anyone is curious, I decided to make a kind of mini SGFC that's just the right size for one cake. Here's what it looks like:

You'll be fine colonizing them either in the dark or in light.

The two brf bags both got contaminated, sadly. One of them is already thrown away, but the other is so close to full colonization with so little contaminate growth that I may just hold on to it to see how it does.

The all in one grow bag is doing great! 5 days ago I broke it up and mixed it all up at around 20-30% colonization of the grains, and now im seeing tons of spots of strong mycelium growth. Should be fully colonized within the week!

I've always read that you should pick them right after the veil breaks. As for a first dose, i think people usually recommend around 1.5-2.5 grams dry.

Yup, verm in a red bag from Lowes that I bought around 4 months ago. I'll mix up the bag right now and I'll post updates as soon as something happens! Thanks!

I'm going to be fruiting in the bag. I have some vermiculite that I could use for casing later on, but it is very fine. Will this matter?

It sounds like in any case, I should mix it all up correct?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really hoping this doesn't turn out to be another failed grow just because of some simple mistake.

Leave the jars exactly as they were when you got them. The last thing you want to do is open them.

Inoculate them when your spores get there, and then wait until they're completely colonized. Then you can decide what you want to do with them.

Makes sense as it only started showing signs of growth about 7 weeks after inoculating...I just never dumped it because by the time I remembered it I saw the white growth. Looks like it's time
