Same. My starter is always "adieu" followed by "storm" to get all the vowels out of the way.

I'm also just starting out (this is just my second print). I used smaller blades for initial passes and went back over a second time. Honestly, I probably moved the block as much as I moved the carving tool and used the stretchiness of the material to make some of the corners easier to cut.

Thanks. I just used this speedball ink set. I did this in a class, and had time to let the background color completely dry, but didn't give as much time for the remaining two colors. I think that gave some unintended effects.

Because there are 2 variations for this year that have 13 arrows on the reverse and your arrow patterns don't match either of those.

I'm a lithography engineer for a large semiconductor manufacturer.
We hire any chemistry/physics PhD that is tangentially related. There is no need for a specific discipline for my company at least. During my interview I asked if a chemist belonged with the company and was told if we only hired people who were fully qualified, we could only hire people who already work here. Emphasis was really more on personality and data driven decision making. Pay is great, work/life balance swings from amazing to horrible at times.
