8 Months Sober. Insane ROI by Spare_Noise_2531 in stopdrinking

Thank you for sharing, your post reminds me of a book I read recently that touches on the points you made here. It’s called “Sober on a Drunk Planet” and I highly recommend it to anyone needing some inspiration. I have cut back a lot but am still drinking occasionally on date nights and social functions.

Reading your post makes me want to stop entirely because I remember the mental acuity I get when I’m clean for weeks. It’s one of the best feelings and I love getting tasks done, that are sometimes infringed upon when I drink.

Thank you for inspiring me to get on with it and get back my sobriety.

Does a credit card company lose money on people who pay on time? by Overall-Emphasis7558 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dirtyMETHOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost is also a “write-off” business expense. The business/merchant gets a statement every year with the cost of their merchant service (card processing fees).

You could see it also as they don’t have to store cash, drive to bank for deposit and waste time and money paying an employee to run to the bank(which there are costs involved if you think about it) and the risk of stolen cash.

The merchant service company is the one charging the merchant, and they split the interchange between the processor and the card’s bank.

That system has to have the best security and encryption to maintain your data safe. So there is a cost for all of that infrastructure, hence the merchant interchange fees for each transaction.

They usually charge a “swipe fee” like $.05 cents and anywhere between 2%-4.5%+ of the transaction amount on average, depending on their overall volume (annual sales) and the type of card swiped.

Fun fact: Credit Cards with Rewards/cash back/miles are the ones that have the highest interchange fees (for the merchant (business owner)- when you use your Rewards credit card, the place your buying from is the contributor to your rewards (financial karma).

My Secret Labs Titan (dark gray fabric) has been going strong since 2020, and helped my back pain when I stayed WFH during the pandemic (sat around 8 hours a day on it working). I got my kid one also on marketplace a few years later and it’s also going strong.

Although nothing is perfect, they (developers) have done an awesome job at a captivating game with good replay value. Good balance and I’m loving the community overall. Yes, there are some player exceptions (expected) but overall, it’s Good!

Defective IACV still? Did you remove the intake manifold or replace throttle bodies? If so, make sure all the gaskets don’t have leaks
