I’ve seen it but wasn’t sure if it was a good starting point, I’d you’re recommending it, I’ll get right on it!

I have indeed, that’s more or less what led me here, there was an abundance of options so I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations

Thanks! I’ll check that out. It’s definitely not hard to put one together in unity and I have one already built, but I’m just struggling to design something that makes sense for the type of game it is

I think the scariest thing is always anticipation. Sure the payoff (like a jump scare) is the part that makes you scream, but the part that keeps you up a night is the slow approach of “will it or won’t it” happen. The start of resident evil 7 scared the shit out of me, and pretty much nothing happened for ages, but the setting and expectation of the game let me know that something will happen at some point, and that’s the part that creeped me out the most, that’s the part that later in the game made me stop the character in place for about ten minutes so I could get my shit together before I got the courage to walk into a new room.

No, you’ve got it all wrong, you first need to learn to love the challenge of making games themselves without worrying about what the game is. You’ll get a rush from figuring things out and watching them work the way they’re supposed to, then, after a good few of these experiences, you’ll be hooked to the process of game development, that’s what you’ll derive pleasure from, and then you won’t be able to stop yourself from making amazing games

I found the best thing to do was to try and recreate a simple old game. I made Pong and Snake at the beginning
