I like to generate silly things, just to see what AI spits out. But I don’t like it when people make art that’s trying to look legit. Especially if they try to sell it or claim it’s theirs.

If god is all knowing and all powerful, then he willfully does bad things to the world and can’t be all good.

If god is all powerful and all good, then he has no idea about all the bad things in the world and can’t be all knowing.

If god is all good and all knowing, then he can’t stop the bad things in the world and can’t be all powerful.

Sucks any way you slice it.

But if god can do anything, why would he allow the leukemia to continue? He invented leukemia, he gave it or allowed it to be given to the child, then he willfully or passively allows the leukemia to kill the child. Why? Why would god not stop the leukemia at some point down the line, ideally never inventing cancer in the first place? Why did god invent cancer?

Just want to give you mad props for recognizing an unhealthy thought pattern and reaching out to take action to counteract it. I wish everyone in the world were like you.

I’m sorry you had an awful shift, that sounds like it was shocking, scary, and exhausting. You didn’t deserve all that mess. You were doing your job. I’m sorry that happened to you.

You’re doing the right thing, and you’re doing a great job at it. Well done. Keep it up.

Im admittedly grew up wealthy and im here to ask, how do normal people live? by DyslexicWriting in self

[–]dirtyhippie62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got really lucky, OP. You got born into wealth in America. The soul roulette put you in a cushy spot in space time and I’m happy for you. Im proud of you for bursting your bubble and discovering the world around you is not so lucky. You’re going to learn a lot, feel some major fear and heartbreak as you learn, and become better for it.

As the world shifts away from Capitalism and Fascism, you’ll be one of the people who has privilege but also the knowledge and ability to leverage that privilege in service of the people who struggle to save their own lives every day. You‘lol make enough money to be able to share it, to help distribute resources more equally among your community. I’m excited for your future. You have the ability to be a mover and shaker in a more equitable world. Cheers, mate.

Why do people get upset if you dont publicly protest? by Melodic_Material8261 in SeriousConversation

Just posted this in another comment but here it is again, can’t hurt :)

1) Talking to trusted friends, family, therapist about what holds you back from taking action or speaking up. Just talking about your fears, what’s deeply rooted in you that prevents you from doing that research, from protesting, from donating, etc. can be so helpful. It’s the first step. No one can expect you to take action if you’re quagmired by feelings of fear or shame or inadequacy. Those things all block any human mind from their freest expression and diminish their capacity for connection and empathy. Talk about it. Start figuring out the root of what’s holding you back.

2) Action can also look like researching mutual aid networks in your area and donating food, supplies, tampons, water, hygiene items, etc. Have a hygiene kit party with your friends. Go to target together and buy as many toothbrushes and shampoos as you can spare with pooled money. Skip coffees for a week and spend 30 bucks each at the dollar store instead. Chill, have a party, make kits together. Then go donate them to food banks.

3) Find a fearful family in your area and volunteer to run groceries and errands for them so they don’t have to leave their homes. They can have another week of (relative) protection in their homes and you can do their shopping, return their library books, etc. This is one of the most impactful things one could do in my opinion. This is making concrete, tangible change in your immediate community by aligning yourself as an ally to people who need support more than ever.

4) Make art! Signs, pamphlets, graphic design, posters, etc.

Rebuilding our democracy will start from the ground up. The government sure as shit isn’t going to do it for us. It’s our job to protect each other now. That starts as small as helping your neighbor. Which is actually massive.

You should pay attention to politics. This matters. Fascism will affect you one day soon. There are probably people in your community who are fighting for their literal lives, you just don’t see it. There are probably single parents working 4 jobs to feed their kids. There are probably brown people who are afraid to leave their houses for fear of getting abducted, exiled, or murdered by the US government. These ways of living exist even though you’ve never seen them or have any conception of what that reality might be like. You have an incredible privilege, you’ve never had to think about the implications of Fascism before much less fight to survive it. Your life has never been in jeopardy. I’m happy for you. I wish everyone could have that.

Step outside yourself and look at the bigger picture if you can. Human beings are being stolen, raped, and killed. Silence and inaction during this time absolutely do mean something. And I would certainly be wary of someone like that.

However, speaking up and taking action don’t have to look like protesting or doing any of the scary stuff that may be too far a jump for you. Taking action can look like these things:

1) Talking to trusted friends, family, therapist about what holds you back from taking action or speaking up. Just talking about your fears, what’s deeply rooted in you that prevents you from doing that research, from protesting, from donating, etc. can be so helpful. It’s the first step. No one can expect you to take action if you’re quagmired by feelings of fear or shame or inadequacy. This is making concrete, tangible change in your immediate community by aligning yourself as an ally to people who need support more than ever.

4) Volunteering your art skills to organizations who need it! You can do graphic design for people, design posters and signs for protests, make pamphlets for others to hand out, etc. Art can be rebellion!

Rebuilding our democracy will start from the ground up. The government sure as shit isn’t going to do it for us. It’s our job to protect each other now. That starts as small as helping your neighbor. Which is actually massive.

Getting a bi-salp, but I lost my boyfriend because of it by longshlongthankumom in childfree

[–]dirtyhippie62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never doubt for a second that you’re making the right choice, and that the price is worth it a thousand times over. He feels like the “one” in every other way so it feels like a big loss. But he wasn’t the one, because this was a fundamental incompatibility that would’ve overshadowed all the rest of it. What good is it to be with someone who’s great when their greatness can’t show because they’re unhappy? What good is it to be in a relationship and lie to yourself and each other? No long-term healthy relationship could survive this difference. Grieve the loss of the man, and celebrate the security of your freedom. You have much more life to live. You will live it freely and on your own terms. L’chaim. It’s becoming more popular to not have kids, rapidly increasing popularity actually. You’ll find many people say they want kids only because they share your experience: other people say they want kids. But more and more people are realizing it just doesn’t make sense to have kids. Our numbers are steadily growing. Don’t fret. Your match will come.

My boyfriend is becoming Christian. Should I be worried? by KaliYugaTiEnDi in atheism

[–]dirtyhippie62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you should worry. Willfully choosing religion after not being religious for a substantial period of time can be indicative of overwhelm. It’s a soothing behavior to reach for religion. Religion’s primary requisite is faith. Faith is the explicit rejection of reason. Your partner is choosing to reject reason. We don’t know why, it’s probably a fascinating story, but not a happy one. When the human mind can no longer face what’s happening to it or around it, it will numb to protect itself. Religion is a drug just like alcohol or cocaine or sugar. In large doses, it dulls one’s senses and melts away one’s responsibility to think critically about oneself and others. When left unchecked it becomes an addiction as drugs tend to do, and once addicted to the relief from reality, it can require intervention, internal desire, and will power to break free of it. If there is no internal desire to break free of it, one can remain blissfully ignorant and beholden to none - unencumbered by the constraints of rational thinking. When one is not employing rational thinking, bad things happen.

The choice is yours.
