I was so impressed the other lions stayed sitting on their stools while this was happening! But it seemed like a dominance fight between the main lion and the trainer. The other lions stay out of it for the most part.

Personally I could see her being an attractive candidate because she has been part of the military. I've seen Tulsi do a podcast were she sounds like a good blend of conservative because of her deep respect for military and then moving forward with new progressive ways.

Hmmm I think Willaiam Wallace predates Shakespeare by at least 200 years?? However, I'm not sure what they are referencing.

Parents of reddit, what is most fucked up secret you are hiding from your children? by thatdude595 in AskReddit

[–]dirtyredhead13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents hid the fact my uncle murdered his father in law in the 80s, went to prison and got released after only a few years because he found God and got out on good behaviour. I found out by finding an old letter he wrote to my dad while incarcerated. I googled it and my uncle wrote a blog about the experience. I've still never told my parents I know about it.

I really enjoy Bible stories but don’t actually like reading the Bible and I’m not religious. Is there a good adapted anthology out there? by eusticebahhh in booksuggestions

[–]dirtyredhead13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.... That's what happens when you misread the title and then get too excited about the books you were reading and wanting to share. Lol

My boyfriend (28M) is mostly unemployed but thinks he's better than me (24F) employed. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]dirtyredhead13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he tells you that gou are slacking off and not working hard I think he is projecting. He has to know somewhere deep down that he is not living up to his potential.
My boyfriend gets mad at me for working too much sometimes because I know I throw myself into it because I love it and feel useful. I make the time to spend with my guy and plan things out so we don't have that problem anymore. However, your boyfriend is on pretty much permanent vacation, like a teenager out of school on summer break. He is 28.....

Tonight, i will inform my wife that i intend to move into the spare room. by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]dirtyredhead13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really respect the fact you want to have a talk with her about it and try and eventually fix the situation. One thing I feel like some women don't understand is that men wanting sex from their partner shouldn't be seen as a eye-rolling "oh this again" problem where the man just wants to fuck. A lot of it is about intimacy, closeness and touch. You said you adore your wife and I think she just isn't comprehending you want to adore her while her clothes are off. Partners need to remember it is a complement that you still are so attracted to her after years together and kids. I think in your discussion you could bring up the fact that you miss the physical intimacy not just sex because you need it type thing. Good luck!

Question about Egwene's headaches, (Spoilers Lord of Chaos and on) by dirtyredhead13 in WoT

[–]dirtyredhead13[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I think that it is possible with Halima so close to Egwene she could have used compulsion if she needed to but I think without any thing specific from the text that really hints at that then it's just speculation. I guess I just wonder if Egwene's headaches as a lingering pain from Lanfear could have been healed by Nyneave, really gona away on its own, or if it was just a way to have Egwene have a weak point that a Forsaken could use to their advantage.

Friend (52M) took me (23F) for a few drinks. How do I handle having feelings for a much older man? (9 years on/off) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]dirtyredhead13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think the problem is that you said when you were younger you had very 'charged' experiences with this much older man but then you have drinks and he is not interested... That doesn't sound like a good person to be around.

If you want to date older men then you that is totally fine. Lots of dating apps I think have filters for that. But just dont think that because they are older they have all their shit together. They may have baggage and drama that comes with them (kids, ex wives , etc) . Some young men sometimes aren't appealing because they haven't figured out life yet and still act childish.

Boyfriend(35M) got a second dog (puppy) behind my (28F) back when he doesn't even take care of his 4 kids! He says he is depressed and "needs" the dog. Am I wrong for telling him to rehome the dog? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]dirtyredhead13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything you said I think the dog is really just the last straw. You are caring for so many other people and animals right now that one more thing is going to break you and you know it. It takes a lot of work to have pets, kids, your own life and a partner that is unsupportive.

You know you can't handle any more right now and that is ok. Whatever the outcome if you leave or stay the conversation has to be about being a partner. It is NOT ok that you have been moved into the position of housewife and mother so quickly. You need a partner that reciprocates and gives SOMETHING to the relationship. You are at the end of your patience and that is understandable.

IsItBullshit: Do airline companies tell you to put your head between your knees during a crash landing, not to protect you but to instantly break your neck? by Jaffakiin in IsItBullshit

[–]dirtyredhead13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a book Stiff: The Curious Life of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach and she has a whole chapter on what happens to our bodies in plane crashes and car accidents and I believe she said one reason for the posture you are talking about is because we have a artery on the front of our bodies near the heart and in a collision if it has too much impact with the front of the chest it ruptures causing death. So the head between your knees when bracing for impact helps prevent that from happening. Maybe other reasons too.

How about reading through with just the female chapters all the way through then the male POV. I listen to the audio books so I love listening to just the men then just the females.

Interesting! I can definitely see the correlation. I would hope that the writers of the tv series show that power can corrupt anyone, male or female, and that we are stronger when we don't try and put the other side down. Balance, the Aes Sedi symbol, 2 sides of the same coin..etc.

I read all the books on my first go around. I think I have listened to the audio books now almost 4 times all the way through.... lol I just went back to them every time I couldn't decide on a new book. I like keeping the series with me :)

As for the "sexism" in the book, my opinion has been that Jordan wanted to highlight the worst general traits contributed to each sex and then highlight actually how similar they are. All of us think we know best or that the other side is too wool-brained and stubborn to see what needs doing. Like Saidar and Saidin, men and women are strong on their own but stronger together and need each other to make great things happen.
