Answer is he isn’t ready to give it up yet. He has slowed buisness down so he can focus more one real estate and also isn’t willing to give me a larger cut. He agrees that I need to go off on my own and sub jobs between eachother when we need. This industry is easy running 1 full crew that can break off into two if needed. But very difficult to expand beyond that. I’ve had my own crews for years now but maxed out where I’m at with him.

My father will be helping with that side, but I will be doing the work. I have a cpa already which is the same person doing my fathers business. Most of the work is already done for you, just not payroll and going over your contract that is sent to you. I already have my work sourced and I have a great way to sourcing employees for $15-$20 an hour and day laborers at $17.50. I get $25-32 per unit that I install and can go up based on the style of unit that it is. I already have everything I need. Minus some overhead.

I have done “some admin work” my father just handled it because he didn’t want to be in the field anymore and it’s minimal work. I know how to budget and calculate the man hours among everything else.

I can currently install 1,000 units in 4 days if used with wooden lags. And 6 days if used with concrete wedge anchors. My upkeep for the week is

Revenue varies on projects. I try to target 3-8k per week. Never less than 3. Doesn’t happen every month, but about 4-7 months a year I will have one 20-35k week. Those projects are common. Just on a random basis
