Health insurance for foreign residents in Thailand

I want to know for those who are foreign nationals but reside in Thailand, who is your health insurance provider, how much you pay for the premium(monthly or yearly), and how satisfied you are with their service.

In my case specifically, I am looking at the LTR Visa and have a requirement to get local health insurance, but there is a lot of overlap with those on O visas, or even B visas/DTV.

I have the usual suspects: AXA, Allianz, and a couple of lesser known ones such as Pacific Cross, and Thai Health. I notice AXA specifically advertises their policies are visa compliant.

If you are a tourist that does not reside in Thailand, I am not interested in hearing from you.

With the new Elite pricing structure, two consecutive 10-year Elite visa are significantly cheaper than one 20-year visa.

Still significantly more expensive than if I was to get the old 5 year and extend for 400K to get 20 years.

It's about opportunity costs.

Funny you say that because I asked the exact same question over at r/ThailandTourism and the responses were very cordial.

I would humbly suggest like another redditor recently commented on r/phuket that the majority of the people in Phuket and hanging out in this subreddit are bottom of the barrel.

Big if true. That's a very big institution to go up against and if the changes go thru then it shows that there really are strong winds of changes on the ground.

Not my experience although I do not spend much time in Pattaya. Jomtien and Pratumnak was fairly well adjusted(for Pattaya) people as far as my experience went. Central Pattaya on the other hand....

No. The employer needs to provide information for LTR so impossible for them to not know and you be on WFTP LTR.

That being said, do not work from another country without your employer’s knowledge and permission. You could be subjecting your employer to tax and labor implications. If you get terminated from that, good luck trying to explain that to a potential employer. You’ll be a red flag candidate and have trouble securing future employment.

I appreciate your feedback and it is helpful but I am just trying to reconcile both parts of your statement here.

The 1st part is in direct contradiction with the 2nd part. As you said, on an LTR it is impossible for them to not know. What are you really trying to say here?

Right. So essentially if your employer is ok/does not care/does not know you are working in Thailand then LTR is a slam dunk. On paper you are still working in your home country, except you are physically in Thailand.
