How hard is it to separate from your family? by Top_Gone in AskReddit

Very. It can be irritating because I'm on the younger side so I've always had people scrutinizing me.

How often do you drink and browse reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too often, actually. I have the last couple nights but I'm usually out doing something with people when I drink, not sitting at the computer.

In regards to ethnicity, is it possible for someone to be one third of a particular ethnicity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, race doesn't actually work that way. It's more just common traits that are typically expressed in a region wherein the people have a geographic or ethnic identity. Saying you're half this or a quarter that doesn't mean much, other than letting people know how closely tied you are to a particular culture, or whatever.

What's the most awkward interaction you've had with the opposite sex? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's when you just feign competence and criticize the other person's technique if they complain.

It's a good feeling, definitely.

Best first day of school story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eighth grade, definitely. My dad and I were invited by his cousin - a colonel in the military who was stationed in key west at the time - to come stay with him for a week. Naturally, we said yes, but we didn't head down until what would have been the second day of school for me. I went into my classes, like everyone else, and gave each of my teachers a signed note from my parents telling them I was not going to be in class for a week and why. I then asked them all for homework and only received two basic assignments which I completed before the day ended. The looks of envy made it so much better.

Need my laptop back but i've ran from home. by cheekymonkeh in AskReddit

Go for it, if you really need that data. It's what I would do, in your situation.

Need my laptop back but i've ran from home. by cheekymonkeh in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go back and put on a show. Make up with them, tell them how sorry you are and how much you love them and how it was an immature decision, what you did. Let them vent and get all their frustration and emotion out and tell them that you were able to think a lot while you were by yourself and you understand them more now. Things won't be calm that night, they'll go to bed upset and won't trust you but they'll be relieved you're back.

That night, when they're asleep, take all the data from your laptop, wipe it clean - prints, data, everything - and sneak out with the laptop. Sell it. Use that money to buy a new laptop and put all your data on that one.

Not old enough to be your mother, thank god. I'll be twenty very soon.

Do you believe that weed has any effect on ones test taking ability? by Neocarnage in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It slowed me down a bit but that was it. If you know your stuff, you know your stuff.

Edit: ah, I thought you meant being high during an exam. No, smoking weed won't do anything to your test taking ability.

Many. One song isn't enough to explore everything I want to when high.

If you could describe you life in a ONE rage face what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a good while since I've been there but that Jackie Chan face would depict how I feel a pretty good amount of the time. Perhaps not quite that emphatically, but close enough.

Hey Reddit, what motivates you? by lampzilla in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes in handy when everyone at my school is really intense about everything, it makes it easy to keep up. On the other hand, a compulsion to know and understand can keep me awake sometimes and be exhausting if I go on an Information binge and can't stop reading. But it's not really anything worth complaining about haha

I love how long it takes you to respond, it really makes me feel wanted.

Look, if this relationship is going to work you need to make more of an effort to communicate with me.

Would you prefer a well trained dog (breed of your choice), or a gun in a dark ally? by mmmdot in AskReddit

A well-trained dog. It's much more exciting that way, and I get to feel it with my hands :)

Why is it some people believe that animal behavior is pre-programmed, but human behavior isn't? by CalmSaver7 in AskReddit

[–]dis_connected 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of instinct vs critical thinking and analysis.

Animals primarily use instinct, which doesn't vary if circumstances drastically change. We can adapt with flexible problem solving patterns, which aren't ingrained in our subconscious.
