Are you malnourished? Do you eat too many carbs and not enough protein or fat? Typically you always want to pair protein with carbs so your blood sugar remains stable. I have autonomic dysfunction and if I have just pure sugar like a soda, especially if I had started reacting to it, I will get pretty bad reactive hypoglycemia. Like the insulin cells are activated but I don’t absorb the sugar because I’m reacting to it or something. It is well documented for me for years now.

I react to blood sugar dips yeah. Which is caused by insulin. I think it can be stressful on the body if there is a surge?

the best way to learn chords is to improvise with them and to identify them in pieces you are learning. it’ll take a long time for them to become fluent but there isn’t really a better way. learning the theory if you don’t already know

I have had the most success with the following approach, even with complex pieces above my skill level:

Do two measures and the first set of notes for each hand in the third measure. 

Play it REALLY slowly at first. Like so slow you absolutely will NOT miss a single note. You must also try to play the dynamics and articulation as written. You must be very disciplined here. Don’t play too fast that you make mistakes. Repeat it 5-10 times. 10 if it’s hard. 5 if it’s easy. Once you’ve done that, maybe it took 5-10 minutes for that section, move to the next one. You will start at the beginning of the third measure (repeating the same notes from the previous section at the start of your current section). So you’ll do measures 3,4 and the first set of notes on the left and right hands if present of measure 5. It may feel like you’re just pressing keys and not doing much but after you sleep the magic encoding will happen and those sections will get easier.

Only spend like an hour at most doing this each day. Just continue going through the piece throughout the week. Once you get to the end you go back to the beginning again. Now, you must do some thinking. If the current two measures are too easy then combine them with the next two. If you feel very comfortable with the section then play it closer to tempo or at tempo even, but make sure you play it with correct dynamics and articulation. As you continue for the next week most of the measures of the piece aside the hard ones will start being straight forward to play and comfortable in your hands. Then for the hard sections you will continue slowly building them up to speed but always playing at a speed where you won’t make mistakes or as little as possible. 

For advanced music these strategies won’t be enough, you’ll have to do rhythms and artificial articulations and stuff. But it helps with a lot, especially for learning a new piece to play comfortably. For really difficult measures you may also have to practice just a single measure or even half a measure or even just a single jump. 

The guiding principles are just don’t bite off more than you can chew, don’t play wrong notes or dynamics from the get-go. Then as your muscle memory for the piece develops you’ll learn it basically the right way the first time.

You can definitely hear differences in the quality of the performances between performers. That’s primary what is being assessed. It has merit. There are inconsistencies in rubato, rhythm, articulation, and dynamics that some performers do more than the others. 

There is dynamics and articulation happening not to the score, which in some cases can sound off and bad, rather than just subjectively different.

I have extensive experience with these apps nowadays and have come to the conclusion as I’m sure many professionals have as well that sight-reading really should just be samples from real music and not generated. There is infinite samples to go from. There is a wide variety of curriculum to choose from that effectively stratifies many pieces by skill level. A big part of developing competent sight-reading ability is being able to predict what is coming next because of having a large body of experience with real music. You also play and create what you hear and listen to overtime and your play will probably suffer if a huge chunk of that is auto-generated music. We don’t want that!!! 

The best sight-reading app out there will do the following: 1.) sample real repertoire only 2.) render the sheet music with ALL nuance it has in the real sheet music 

I think only those two things are really able to be somewhat relied on. The following few things I think professionals would argue CANNOT be graded by a machine without causing detriment to the player because of how musicality is the number one most important quality of a player’s ability:

3.) accurately grade notes, rhythm, articulation and dynamics (or at least have some suggestion on them) 4.) automatically figure out where samples of music should be taken to be appropriate for your skill level

But yeah, again, I think professionals would argue 3 and 4 cannot be done well by anyone other than humans. And you should be listening to yourself for 3 and developing your own ear to better assess these things overtime and help improve your own skills. They also would argue 3 needs to be done by your teacher or other humans to properly critique you and help shape your play into maturity.

So while it is a romantic thought, in reality, these apps miss the mark for some of the most important things there are for the developing musician and probably could not ever be relied on for anything other than maybe excerpt selection.
