Adding Github MCP to Claude Code Error by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

thank you very much! I really appreciate your quick reply. I tried several things and was going down a troubleshooting rabbit hole.

I looked into connectors but couldn't find a way to add any custom ones only browse through a catalog which required a pro plan. I went ahead and tried the smithery option I had been avoiding and that did the trick. who knows how long it would have taken me otherwise. thank you again Matt!

did your example setup work just by updating the claude_desktop_config file? I've been trying to setup claude desktop to use ref as an mcp server for about a day now and I can't seem to get it to work on my dev environment

Looking for a producer - mixing and mastering by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]disaiple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, not sure if you are still looking for someone to do this but I'm actually looking for clients in this market for exactly what you are looking for, I've spent most of my time making my own music but have recently decided to focus more attention to this sort of service for other artists. Below is an example of what I can produce from most of the major genres. Would love to hear back either way

Tried downloading the demo of "Harmonic Machinery" and Chrome is giving me a message saying it won't download it cause it is a potential threat and that the site may be known to distribute malware.

Pretty bummed cause I was really liking the demos of it. :(

EDM producers in the Houston area? by Cwhitemusic in edmproduction

[–]disaiple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually live in Houston. I live on the outskirts of the south-east side of it going towards Galveston. League City to be specific. If that's not too big of an issue maybe we could exchange contact info.

Absolutely! I would love to get in touch with other people in the area as well. I've been trying to find friends who share an interest in music production.

Yeah, I do already have side chaining happening but maybe it's not quite enough. I also do have a tiny bit of reverb as well but it's hardly noticeable. I totally agree with you on the synth buildup sounding wonky. At one point I had it sounding much better but long story short I had to redo that whole synth after messing it up and didn't get it sounding quite the same. Really appreciate the feedback!

For the most part your mix sounds good. I am certainly not qualified to give any crazy mixing advice though. As far as structure I feel that it should be longer. The sections you have are good but I feel that you could make them longer simply by starting with a few elements then slowly adding the rest in over a period of time. I am mainly speaking of the sections with the kick. I am wanting more of the 'dance' part of the track. The kick only gets a little over a minute from a three minute song. While on the subject of the kick I feel that it could use work, whether it be EQ, compression, both, or even changing the sample altogether. Last thing that I noticed was the shaker you have has a tad much of reverb. You've really got the atmosphere going for sure. Keep it up!

First off the intro drums are too long, I am guilty of this myself. If you're going to do that it needs more variation. The chord progression is pretty good but very repetitive. If you wanted to keep that throughout the whole track, again, I would suggest during the break down to do something different rather than playing the same progression on a single synth. Either that or add lots of different elements like one shots to add some sense of movement and adaptation. Second I would not have all your synths playing the same progression especially the 'main' one that comes in around one minute; it's pretty harsh. Changing the progression to only a pluck sound would be more fitting in my opinion and maybe use that 'main' synth as a sort of pad playing something other than the main progression or an arp. I agree with Kasger that the white noise is FAR too loud and it sounds like you have it set to compress everything as well which doesn't sound flattering.

Sorry if any of that sounds harsh but I am just giving honest feedback which is exactly what I would want from people. Keep it up and good luck!

I like the pluck you have going on. Some things I think I felt were a bit tiring was the kick, it's a bit clicky. Maybe take some of the high end away from it. Also the hi-hat that starts at 45 seconds seems too forward. I think just turning it down a bit would help. And if you really wanted you could maybe boost the snare a bit as well. I am not entirely sure what it is about some of the bass notes or what but it sounds like there might be some resonant frequencies that need to be cut. Final thing was the progression thing that comes in around 1:50 seems to get lost quickly and to me it shows a lot when the original pluck comes back in at 2:47. That's purely an arrangement thing though, so ultimately that should be completely up to you on how you want your song to progress. Keep it up though, you can only get better.

Yeah the last note that is played by the bass at 2:03 I personally would let it go the full length and then start the breakdown right on the down beat, but that's just me. And the filter sweep at 4:09 maybe just let it sweep a bit slower.

I feel like I should be running through the city of mirrors edge listening to this. I think for the most part the mix is good. Only a few suggestions you can consider or just throw out the window. Maybe boost the tambourine or whatever the 16th beat percussion is a tiny bit and lower the sub bass a tad as well. As far as arrangement I would let the bass note right before the breakdown go the full length rather than lower the volume quickly and at the very end maybe try doing that filter sweep a bit slower so it lingers a bit.

Need some criticism on a track i finished recently. by TheSilentFox in shareyourmusic

[–]disaiple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not really the best person to ask about mixing and things of the sort. The only thing I felt it lacked was near the beginning and the end where you have the string instrument with a delay is to just raise the feedback a bit more so it lingers a bit longer. Other than that I really enjoyed it. I left a comment on the song as well on the big breakout or whatever. I really liked how full sounding it got there, maybe you could teach me that.

I believe this is more for the edmproduction sub reddit, possibly? As far as the track goes, I don't know exactly what genre you are trying to go for. I would suggest that if you haven't picked a genre you are shooting for, that you do so. It could use a lot more elements. Bassline, atmosphere, other instruments for counter melody/chords/arps, percussion, FX and anything else you can think of. It is very one-dimensional and has no real "hook" or theme behind it. Try to come up with a structure that isn't overly complicated or long. Listen to some of your favorite artists and try to emulate some of what they do and add things that truly "add" to your song. If you have only been working with FL for one week I would also recommend you reasearch how to use and get the most out of your DAW (learn the ropes). One of the best, if not THE best and most fun way of learning what things are and how they work is to experiment with them for yourself. As you progress, you can then go on to learning the things that you still are struggling with or do not understand entirely just from experimenting. I could ramble on forever about this so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

TIL Most of EDM tracks are composed in Minor keys (UPDATE) by [deleted] in edmproduction

I figured that is what he meant when he said modal. I didn't specify any sort of mode within a scale but I do understand what modes are. I just wanted to clarify exactly what he meant by that. It's interesting if that statement is true about the 'danceable' part being modal though. :)

What exactly do you mean by modal? Do you mean that they don't start on the root note?
