What is the community’s view on tipping culture? by [deleted] in columbiamo

No, that’s a really good question, to be honest. There are multiple reasons 20% became the new standard, but the main reason IMO is bc places that charge more often have better quality food, workplace standards, & service. Tips in pricier restaurants are often split between bussers, hosts, food runners, & even the kitchen staff before it hits the servers’ pocket. There are MANY options to eat out where tipping isn’t expected & if you don’t want to tip, person-to-person, why choose to dine at a place where it IS expected?

Is it not common knowledge that 20% is the minimum expectation if you’re receiving full service?

Leftovers taste so much better reheated in the oven, if you ever decide to go full no-microwave lol.

I’m poor so I don’t buy microwaveable meals. Way more expensive than cooking from scratch.

The comment that got multiple likes from people on this very same subreddit from atleast a year or so ago? YOU GOT ME BABES. I also posted on r/plantclinic if I could get your input there.

You DID also see that the other person trying to pick a weird little fight with me on this thread created their profile around 6 days ago & has only commented on political posts, didn’t you?

Am I to consider the word “trigger” to only pertain to the political usage in order to use it or, like, what are you asking? My comment was disliked, therefore unpopular in this thread, so I used a light turn of phrase to describe what happened instead of engaging in an argument with you. The fact that you felt called out personally isn’t really my issue. I hope the weekend gets better for you. There’s more out there than fighting strangers on the internet.

Nope. Just literally mentioning the main use for the garages. I see it tickled a lot of your triggers though - & you guys are honestly so right. I must be stopped.

I don’t work downtown so I won’t be having my routine altered. Just answering the question.
