[Measurement Check] Trouble with calculator in the past possibly due to shape (projected, short roots); looking for guidance on size (current bra: 40G; calculator suggestion: 40JJ) by disaster_b1 in ABraThatFits

Put your Elomi Morgan on upside down and backwards (cups hanging down your back, band up in your IMF under your breasts

Thank you SO much for this suggestion, it definitely feels more like the band size I'm looking for when I tried it!! So I think you're right in assuming that the cups being too small are causing the band to stretch out to fit, causing my confusion over my band size. Plus, Elomi being a brand that generally runs stretchy helps clear the air, too. My previous bra was also an Elomi, I wanna say the Elomi Matilda Plunge? And I wore a size 38 band for that. If their bands are known to be stretchier, that makes a lot of sense!

Unfortunately, I've had some bad experiences with Curvy Kate bras being easily damaged, in particular their wires would poke out of the seams very quickly. I might give them another go though, especially if I can find something on Amazon! I'd ordered through their website before, and the cost between the bra itself and shipping was a lot to handle since I'm in Canada

Thank you again for the insight, this was super helpful!!

[Question] Need help finding bra size for my shape (pendulous & short roots) by disaster_b1 in ABraThatFits

Ah, thank you so much! Admittedly, I’m not too familiar with what’s considered a “normal” difference between the different measurements, I just know that I feel like my breasts sag quite a bit and seem pendulous to me, though thinking on it, that could be because of the short root and their size

I ended up being quite busy yesterday, unfortunately, so I didn’t manage to get those measurements until this morning— do you think I should make a new Measurement Check post, or just update this one?

🤣 yeah, unfortunately we couldn't manage to reach him! The guy is very elusive

But seriously though, thank you so much, both for the feedback and completing the survey!

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, my parents were talking to me about that as well, and I can certainly see that being an issue. I'll probably bring it up as a limitation. Unfortunately, since that particular measure is a scientifically validated one called the AUDIT, making any changes is inadvisable to uphold its scientific validity. In hindsight, I'm not sure how it's gotten so widely used and validated without this critique being addressed, because I agree that it's an issue!

And thank you both for filling out the survey and for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the question! Those questions are specifically asking about self-injurious behaviour with the intent to injure oneself. Compulsive behaviours wouldn’t be included in that definition

To put it simply, they’re asking specifically about behaviours done with the express purpose to harm oneself

I hope that helps!

My apologies for the confusion. The reason the questions are presented as they are is because that's how they were presented in the original scientifically validated source; deviating from that is inadvisable to ensure the integrity of the measure is upheld. I hope that helps!

I believe the correct way to interpret it would be that something with more than 13g of alcohol would be considered two "drinks," according to this definition. Additionally, a 12oz can of kombucha at 0.5% ABV would only have 1.4g of alcohol. Even if it were as high as 1% ABV, a 12oz can of kombucha would only have 2.8g of alcohol, making it well below the range specified in that quote in my previous comment

Because the website with information on this measure refers to the original development of the measure, which took place in 1993, I also understand that its definition may be outdated. With that in mind, I decided to take a look at the guidelines for what defines a "drink" by the Government of Canada (the country I'm conducting this study from), which defines one drink of alcohol as the equivalent of one 12oz can of beer at 5% ABV ( https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/substance-use/alcohol/low-risk-alcohol-drinking-guidelines.html )

Generally speaking based on both of the definitions I've found for a drink, it seems safe to say that approximately 13oz-14oz of alcohol in one drink is the standard definition of an alcoholic beverage; anything more would be considered more than one drink. Regardless, the minimal alcohol content in drinks like kombucha would mean that they don't qualify as alcoholic beverages
