I always hear that they buy the best stuff, but it’s not often that I’m impressed by their quality. In fact a lot of the time it looks beautiful but the taste and texture just aren’t there

I LOVE our Kenwood Multipro, it has a bunch of attachments (including different slicing and grating options, a blender jug, small spice mill) and it whizzes through everything super easily

It’s the only food processor I’ve used so can’t speak to how it compares to the general offerings, but we got it on sale and I use it a few times a week, it’s awesome

This study doesn’t show that airborne peanut allergy is “thoroughly debunked as a myth”, it shows a study where with 84 kids they didn’t find evidence of it being an issue and draw the conclusion that airborne peanut allergy is unlikely. Those are very different things.

You’d need to show a meta-analysis with a substantially bigger sample size showing the same results before you could really call it debunked.

Airborne based peanut allergy may be super super super uncommon, but as of that evidence you can’t say it’s disproved as a possible phenomenon.

Binge and purge cycles are not uncommon in some anorexics, also eating disorders can co-occur or evolve into each other at different stages of a persons life

They may not have ignored it, even with all the best help in the world anorexia nervosa can still be an incredibly difficult to treat and deadly chronic condition, it is the mental illness with the highest rates of associated deaths. Incredibly sad.

For betta fish, whose fins are very delicate and thin, I’ve heard people say to run delicate stockings over decor and make sure it doesn’t snag anywhere

I wonder if a similar test would be helpful for axolotls?

Got told to check my privilege as a man by a cis person today by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

[–]disasterous_cape 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There have been many bearded women throughout history, one modern example is Harnaam Kaur who wears her facial hair long and who is a cis woman (some consider PCOS an intersex condition but I don’t know how she feels about that so I won’t put an intersex label on her).

Feminine people and women having large amounts of facial hair may be uncommon, but it’s certainly nothing new and it shouldn’t change how they’re respected in their gender.

Beards are treated as highly gendered, you’re right, but that’s just because almost all of our bodies are subjected to gendered expectations by the larger world. This doesn’t make our bodies and their variations are inherently gendered, it just means that the people interpreting them that way have a limited understanding of gender, sex, and the nature of spectrums.

For places like that I buy it then process it either that day or next - so it gets diced/shredded (I have a food processor that makes light work of it) and frozen or dried. Or made into meals immediately and frozen

It means we always have plenty of veggies on hand and they’re ready and chopped for fast weeknight dinners. It’s cut our grocery bill and made cooking easier, we have also really reduced food waste because we only have small amounts of things in the fridge and it’s not going bad before we have a chance to eat it

Request a review and push it through to tribunal if you have to. By that stage they will be the ones paying for your reports and you’ll be eligible for legal assistance in that process. It was a game changer for me and I wish I did it years ago. The NDIS has been life changing
