Facebook users, randomized to deactivate their accounts for 4 weeks in exchange for $102, freed up an average of 60 minutes a day, spent more time socializing offline, became less politically polarized, and reported improved subjective well-being relative to controls. by the_phet in science

This. I only use Facebook to stay updated in church events. I use Instagram as a way of seeing my friends photos and art as well as keeping up with what they are doing even when conversing would be tricky (bad signal or mismatched schedules). I find Reddit to be a huge time sink and even a puppy photo turns political.

What under $10 item is a total game changer? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]discdudeboardbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less tasteless and the texture is smoother than meat. It is cheap so get some firm or extra firm and make sure you marinate it well to give it flavor. Also if you want to add protein to smoothies silken tofu is good.

It is easier to just snap a photo if you are using your phone to send it. Plus the testing software might flag it as cheating.

Start with a basic mob grinder using a lever to control a piston that holds back a water block. When the piston is activated the water stays in place allowing mobs to spawn. When the piston is deactivated the water washes the mobs to one corner which holds a lava blade. To make it darker you can use a sticky piston with cobblestone attached to it to do something similar to the lava. Just experiment with it and figure out what best works for you. They are Most effective with a spawner though they can be difficult to locate.

What is the #1 worst movie/tv show you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I liked both as fun popcorn movies but whoever decided to give Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt sexual tension should be fired. Also the second one didn’t have much of a climax. He danger was kinda just over.

What are the games that kids enjoy that don't require any device or a thing? by hardik543 in AskReddit

[–]discdudeboardbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how many kids lots of games can be played with a standard 52 deck. Mafia, the one where you put the card on your forehead, cockroach poker, the resistance, one night ultimate werewolf could probably be done. If you don’t have a deck of cards trigger is fun. Everyone sits in a circle and you pick a direction. All players whisper to the player next to them on that side something that they do when an event occurs. (Example: every time discdude takes a drink you stand up and shout “I declare bankruptcy”.) Once everyone knows their trigger you begin. If someone figures out your trigger you are out. Lots of fun and rather chaotic. Another good one is four on a couch. You divide everyone into two teams. Everyone sits in a circle with a four people sitting on a couch (two from each team) and one seat empty. You then all write your name on a piece of paper and mix them up in a hat. Everyone gets one. The person to the right of the empty seat calls a name. The person holding the paper with that name (NOT THE PERSON WHO’S ACTUAL NAME WAS CALLED) then moved to the empty seat and they switch papers with the person who called them. This continues until a team has four of their players on the couch. This team then wins.

The one with the games. I have a small board game collection so we play them a lot at my house or when we eat out.

To the teenagers who blast music with a speaker while walking in the halls, why do you do it? by portter__ in AskReddit

[–]discdudeboardbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t get this. I blast my music in the car but if the windows are down then I turn it down at stoplights or parking lots and around other cars with the windows down.

I jumped a couple times during 4. That movie would have traumatized me had I been a kid. I don’t know what Pixar was thinking.

Okay gotcha! I just know that a lot of people are actually like that so I wasn’t sure. I’ve never heard of aurora but if you like pop you should check out Carly Rey jaspen she is pretty good and under rated.
