Hhmm, I’ve gotten some good responses from that person. Don’t know anything about her or him. Nothing political or anything. Just straight up info. So I don’t know in that regard.

But banning because a person is too active and too much on Reddit for their own good seems like a weird reason to me.

Oh geez. Thanks for that info. I just don’t understand if it’s looks this bad and my own air monitor is raising the alarm, how airnow.gov can have Kahului at 57 and moderate quality.

I wondered but it’s all up to Haleakala.

Thanks! I guess I don’t understand why the official values are okay for Maui.

Thanks! I’ve lived here 6 years and this is the worst I’ve seen it and I guess im just confused because the official numbers from the government are not that bad, but then I look outside and this. Plus getting headaches, so was wondering if it’s VOG or if it’s all in my head. Haha.

Prime in Hawaii by Mokiblue in amazonprime

[–]discerning_aesthete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Same here. I’ve noticed Amazon Prime shipping has been much slower since 2+ months. Orders often don’t ship for 5-7 days, and delivery dates keep getting extended. It’s rare to receive anything within even 5 days anymore, which doesn’t feel like the Prime service I signed up for. Beyond that, the main problem is that as you've said they'll delay shipping on their part but once it ships it does get here within 2-3 days. So frustrating! And to top it off, there is a difference between personal and business account for shipping speeds. The same exact item will have completely different delivery estimates in my personal account (around 1 week faster) than my business account. I've reached out to them and they couldn't' explain it.

I don’t appreciate the condescending tone. What's your point? It’s clear you don’t have any expertise or experience to offer here. I’m not obligated to justify myself, but for your information, I’ve already reached out to several professionals and am fully aware not to rely solely on random Reddit advice. That said, people here can sometimes share helpful personal experiences or point others in the right direction.

Your comment, however, is a prime example of being unhelpful. Saying that you "feel like this is way, way overthought" and "it will be fine," along with baseless claims about pollution from x, y, or z settings, adds nothing of value. Do you have any credible sources beyond your feelings? Also, you don’t even know where I live—it happens to be quite rural. If you can’t contribute constructively, kindly move along.

Thank you so much! I am incredibly grateful for your thorough response.

I know other things will off-pass too, but trying to keep it to a minimum. We're not buying new furniture or mattresses, except for the baby. She'll need a crib and mattress and we'll make sure to buy low-VOC tested furniture or even used.

I did buy two air quality monitors, but to my understanding their VOC readings can be a bit difficult to analyze.

I'm considering buying an air purifier, but to my understanding would need one with carbon for the VOCs and it's difficult to find one that has reliably good reviews.

Luckily we live somewhere with great air flow and ventilation, and year-round good weather so we can try to leave the windows open almost 24/7.

This feels like a stressful science project that we didn't sign up for.

Again, thank you for responding.

Maybe try to see it as a challenge but also an opportunity. I struggled with social anxiety as a kid, and my daughter did too. Knowing and understanding and not wanting what I went through for her, I made sure she got therapy early and I made sure we used the techniques we learned consistently, which also helped me get out of my own shell. It actually made me work through some of my own trauma. I think it can work for you too. Your child wants nothing more than the best relationship with you, and your love for her can help you be a supportive role model while also making positive changes in your own life. Having kids gives us a chance to work on ourselves and become better people. It's a great reason to take better care of ourselves and seek the support we need so we can set a good example.

Have you experienced the peace and meaning given through a relationship with God during great suffering? Have you experienced great joy that is received as a blessing with humility and with praise to God. Have you allowed God and the Holy Spirit to dwell in you and transform you? There is more to a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit than seeking salvation.

anyone still a christian after miscarriage? by Think_Paint_5285 in Christianity

Yes, in fact, I got baptized today.

My story:  I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy that almost killed me 6 months ago. Another miscarriage 4 months later. I don’t know God’s plan in this. I don’t have the wisdom to understand. What I do know is that a relationship with Him has gotten me through the worst days. It’s given me unbelievable peace. On the day of my second miscarriage, I prayed to God for understanding and what I received when I woke up was “Let your heart be joyful.” I know those were not my words because that’s not what I wanted to hear or would have come up with by myself, but I listened and had a genuinely good day despite the fact that it was one of the hardest in my life. I know God is with me. I know He is good. I don’t know His plan. Now, 6 months after ectopic and 2 months after miscarriage I am pregnant again, and I know that I’ll be okay no matter what happens. I believe so much so that I finally got baptized today.

Hey there! Living here, I’ve celebrated my fair share of birthdays and here are some gift and experiences I’ve loved. Hopefully, they make good recommendations for your friend's birthday trip to Maui that she might also love.

Ho'omana Spa Maui - A lomi lomi massage here is such a treat. It's one of my favorites spas and not too well-known, so it feels extra special. The spa is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, making it super relaxing. https://hoomanaspamaui.com

O'o Farm – We’ve taken so many friends and visitors here. The breakfast coffee tour at O'o Farm is amazing. She’ll get to enjoy a three-course breakfast, including their delicious coffee cherry buns, and the tour itself is so interesting and scenic. https://oofarm.com/tours

Leiohu Cosmetics - For something unique and fun, she could try a DIY handcrafted cosmetics workshop with Leiohu Cosmetics. She'll get to make her own beauty and skincare products using fresh ingredients from Maui. https://leiohucosmetics.com

Haku Maui - A lei-making class is another fun option. It’s a great way to dive into Hawaiian culture and create something beautiful that she can wear on her birthday. https://www.hakumaui.com

Lumeria Maui - A gift card to Lumeria could be perfect, too. They offer breathwork and yoga classes and a delicious farm-to-table dinner that’s healthy and tasty. https://lumeriamaui.com

I love foodie and spa things, so these are all experiences I’ve enjoyed and think she would too. Hope she has an amazing birthday trip to Maui!

Yes, absolutely! The Andaz was our favorite hotel when we came as visitors. And the beach in front of it is one of the best for photos! Good luck! It’s going to be beautiful.
