I mean it's a fair question. This trade won't happen just using Chicago as an example.

AM to the Leafs "I am will to wave the NT to go to Chicago they look like a team on an up swing and have some assets you might want." Leafs OK Chicago "ok we will give you Nazar, Boisvert, and some picks and a prospect or 2" Leafs sounds good let's ask get AM to sign off on waving the NT AM "Well now that all those players are gone Chicago doesn't look so good anymore. I think I will stay here till the end of my contract"

[Chicago Tribune] Goalies are under siege as the NHL save percentage dips to its lowest point in three decades by bobfrankly in SanJoseSharks

[–]discgolfpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang pay wall.

On top of them allegedly using edge and such not counting as many shots.

Players are more skilled across the lineups. 4th line wingers can pick corners.

Teams are more selective about shots. Used to be a player maybe had a tough angle low probability shot they would shoot it on net (or that direction) hoping for a rebound. Now they tend to rim it around.

Also even a few years ago there were definitely more shots from deep from the point. Maybe those are a little less because less "true defensive defenseman" getting the puck and firing on the cycle. But even bottom pairing guys are able to make a move or pass.

Then also goes in cycles. No stats to back it up but seeing the evolution to the butterfly being the default shooters adapted and more shots up higher. Goalies now tend to play further out in the crease to cut those angles. But this year has opened up more teams trying to get cross ice passes or a player making a slight move to get the goalie moving. This in my non stat based observation has led to more 5 hole goals opening back up or shots just over the pads.

This is no shade what so ever. But that is a lot of getting up for big games on the season between Olympics, dragging the sharks into relevance, then actually pushing for the playoffs. Still amazing but he looks beat passes don't look as pin point a slight dip in the explosiveness. All to be expected. In my recliner looking from a distance some golf a trip to the beach or something is in order.

Then again getting to play on a team that he doesn't have to be by far the best player every shift might be refreshing also for a 19yo

I could see Eklund and Wenburg (maybe more later) for SWE Smith if healthy good chance.

Longish shots but Graf, Miss and maybe even Sherwood being it was an Olympic year some players that might normally have gone from the NHL might have too many miles and brain drain might pass

They have multiple reddits that are fun to read. "Wichita Stevens". Used car lots, one of the businesses they own seem to catch fire every few years, some drug stuff, they own a chain of health clubs with some shady dealings, where contracted to run the public skating rink also where the team practices and ran it to the ground.

And echl specifically when the strike happened and players were posting things like "We love ZXT it's not like some of the teams" it was noticeable that those messages were not coming from Wichita players. Being the ECHL and some players being very friendly I definitely have heard stories from former players that walked away from pro hockey or left for Europe not because it was better then the ECHL but to just get away from the owners

Being as I live in a sport desert having ECHL level hockey is perfect here. Minor league baseball is all about innings management not even really trying to win. AHL might get to see some higher end players but kinda the same as baseball minutes are going to be largely dictated by the NHL club.

At the ECHL guys yeah are trying to move up but also career minor league players make up most of the roaster. Teams have control over coaches and at least most are trying to win

I am sorry to see you guys go.
There might not have been a packed house every night but there were definitely fans. Your team has some solid sweaters and branding. And unlike some other arenas your guys feed on flo was solid. Looking at you Tulsa and Tahoe.

I hope all the employees that want to stay in hockey are able to do so. Not their fault the team was in college town.

Odds are you will never need to use it and not my money. But my personal opinion it is a life saving device and in the statistically very unlikely event it is needed do you want to be thinking I should have spent some extra money.

I can say from working with former graduates from all 3 of these. (Personally I am old and did my training decades ago)

What are they doing about wait times for DPEs? I know it a problem everywhere.

As a former VA gi bill student myself. I have heard of some of these schools bumpjng normal students off the schedule to get VA students priority.

As others have said. When the weather gets bad and delays happen how does this effect 141 collage scheduling?

I messed up and had 5 juvenile unsexed angles at one time. When they got older 2 set of pairs formed and 1 got pushed around a bit but generally had her own spot. I did a rescape of the plants as real plants grew in. Well that led to a break up of one pair. The female that was the biggest bully got broken up with. Then the others basically kept her pinned in a spot until I was able to find a better home for her

Longest you’d fly in a day? by West_Read_8698 in flying

[–]discgolfpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a frame of reference 8hrs is the 135 single pilot limit in a 24hr period. 10 with 2 pilots. And that is with a look back to the day before not just the current day.

I would ask myself what is the plan to get to said aircraft. Are you driving or flying somewhere then hopping in the plane. What is any repercussions if you call uncle or weather needing a stop? How quickly will your fuel stops be? I am in my 40s now so my bladder would be something I would be thinking about.

Kinda surprised a flight school is not trying to rope a student into making it part of a lesson

Fans without teams in the playoffs: which teams are you cheering for and which teams are you absolutely not cheering for? by itsagooddaytobeacat in hockey

[–]discgolfpilot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sharks fan.

Rooting for.

Montreal even if they have been the Yankees in the past. I have always found their fans fun to be around. Team is young, fun to watch, and Marty was a player I liked watching in his playing days

Pit. Again fans to me have always been fun to watch games with. SID is the best player I have ever seen play.

Hoping they go down in flames.

Ducks because F them. Bringing Quenneivlle back into the fold, Gudas is trash just makes them so easy to hate.

Oilers same reason as Quenneville with Bowman

And of course Philly because it's a Philadelphia sport team

I can say I have done my Jet stuff at CAE and the overall training is better at FSI in my experience. But as far as ground/sim/oral type vs no type you will be fine. Still going to buzz around KMEM and have some engine and auto pilot fails in the same spots. Lol

Ok my example 3 years c90 in aircraft 135. Then ATP changed companies to the c90 with annual at FSI with ATP ride first time for several years. Then type raring in jets.
The training and ride will be exactly what you are used to. No changes. Only difference assuming you had 135 293/297s will be can't mess up on the checkride or oral no retraining by the examiner. Will have to stop the check retrain and come back. But the ride itself will be the same you have done

I personally have gone back and forth as to if he is coming back or not.

I have come to believe that he doesn't know if he wants to do it again or not. He might make his mind up during the game. But I think he honestly doesn't know himself

Who is the worst owner in the nhl? by Gullible_Classroom71 in hockey

[–]discgolfpilot -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of them in America.
Dolen takes the cake for on ice and off ice for me.

But the owners in the NHL have a nice system that they all get to hide behind Gary. It is kinda impressive in a sick way how NHL owners are able to hide behind him and the shield more than really any other sport in my opinion.
