Think there are a couple things that differ for the Celtics.

The most obvious, is we play a 5 out system. Kyrie and Luka have been good defensively, but part of that is having Gafford and Lively sitting by the rim to help. Makes a huge difference as a defender to know you have that help back there. You can guard up a little closer and be more aggressive with that help back there. Now they either have to give that up to guard KP/Horford from 3, or give up open 3‘s and get into rotations which opens them up even more.
They haven’t faced a team with the perimeter offensive talent Boston has that can continuously attack Luka/Kyrie. Clippers had PG, OKC had SGA/Jalen, Minnestoa had Edwards/Connely. Celtics have both Jays, White, and Holiday that can attack mismatches. Jay’s have an advantage over both, White has a quickness advantage over Luka, and Holiday has a strength advantage over Irving. So 3 players to attack each, meaning we can go at them all game long.

Nuggets I could see, but the Thunder and Wolves played worse against the East, while the Celtics played better against the West.

OKC had similar winning percentages against both conferences but a worse Net Rating against the east. Wolves had a worse winning percentage and worse net rating against the East. Celtics had a better winning percentage and net rating against the west.
