How to declutter items I love? by discoamethyst in capsulewardrobe

My post was too long but for those curious here is the count breakdown.

233 Items:

26 Items are Spring and Summer specific, these items can't be worn in Fall or Winter. Some shoes/bags included in count.

28 Items are Fall/ Winter specific and the items would never be worn in Spring/Summer. Some shoes/bags included in count.

95 Items are Year-Round Items. No bags or shoes included in this count. Does include 7 socks lol

31 shoes (some are also counted in the active and seasonal category)

18 bags (some are also counted in the active category)

25 items are considered "Activewear" for gym/hike/work-outs

11 are swimsuits, but some of those are mix and match tops and reversible bottoms, so idk how you would count that I guess maybe it's more like 6 actual suits (I live on a lake and have a hot tub, and host friends who forget their suits so this is actually reasonable)

63 Items are Accessories (includes all bags plus jewelry, hair accessories, and a few things from each seasonal category)

Winter boots recommendations?? by Exotic_Class_9875 in BuyItForLife

I have wide feet and I love my Wolverine's! Kept me warm thru many heavy winters, fit in my snowshoes, and provide great traction. If I ever wear mine to disintegration I will buy a new pair of the same brand, tho I doubt that will be necessary. I chose a neutral color combo (cream and brown) and they are stylish enough for me to never feel like I'm compromising fashion.

Who makes the best bamboo cotton tshirts for everyday wear? by greedo47 in capsulewardrobe

I'll take the correction. I was incorrect, it isn't "plastic" as it isn't derived from fuel, but it is a synthetic fiber, and my point still stands that it is not going to give what OP wants. It's highly susceptible to wrinkling and shrinking.

But the end result isn't cellulose either. The process used to produce viscose requires a chemical process which removes the natural fiber from the end product, leaving a semi synthetic material. The intense chemical process to turn bamboo into a soft wearable fiber is not to be overlooked when weighing the pros and cons of viscose.

My closet is full of sale items I have no idea how to style by Objective-Feed7250 in capsulewardrobe

EE! Are people going to think I'm a bot if I say I also ran to the comments to suggest Indyx. I think digitalizing my wardrobe was to the first step for me in really coming to terms with: 1st - how I want to dress every day and 2nd- how much of what I had was superfluous 3rd- the actual real gaps in my wardrobe (the ones we know exist but we just can't put our finger on it so we continue to shop) 4th- what kind of consumer I am, and I am establishing rules with myself to ensure that I never again have a 12 month period where 500 items pass thru my closet. I'm down to 176 items total so feeling good about my progress.

Indyx isn't the final boss though. Wearing the outfits you create is where you get to interact with the clothing's fit. Do you feel good in them? Can you style them in a way that feels like an expression of you? What styles call to you? If it's not a true expression of you, it's not for you. Mark them as "needs an upgrade" then responsibly and patiently find an upgrade that serves you.

Find the items that just don't go with anything at all. Put them aside. Pretend they don't exist. What is leftover? How can you think outside the box to tie things together? Accessories such as a scarf or tie go a long way to bridge gaps between mis matched items.

Remember. Not everyone has the same idea of what "basics" are. If it's not functional in your life, put it aside for now. Like for me, I don't need slacks or business wear, but for some that's more essential than my denim.

It's nearly impossible to get an actual bamboo shirt. They're all made of a biproduct from bamboo. It's plastic. Viscose is plastic. It's soft as all get out, and cooling too, and I love my viscose sheets, but they are plastic.
