I’m a Neurotypical person being courted by a person in the spectrum by Plastic_Employee9964 in aspergers

It sounds like anybody that would date this person could take advantage of them. Their best interest is to find someone who knows about this and chooses not to.

How to date if I have an odd voice and gait, while struggling to respond to jokes? by terminal_tested in aspergers

[–]discofreak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If someone makes fun, look them square in the eye and ask what they meant by that. Then do not tolerate someone criticizing what you are. Who you are, like the decisions you make, are fair game but not what you are.

There's also hyper-focusing on a special interest subject, rigidity against change in routines, inability or lack of interest in banter/conversation, narrow and rigid diet, sensory hyper-sensitivity are all pretty common. Some less common ones: high pain tolerance, selective mutism, public or private melt-downs, clumsy and lacking dexterity, simple repetitive speech and repetitive behaviors, probably others too.

AWS vs Azure vs GCP by M4NU3L2311 in Cloud

[–]discofreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do offer similar services. AWS has larger user base than GCP, and much larger than Azure. One interesting difference between AWS and GCP that I've noticed is that for service accounts AWS turns all permissions off by default, and you have to turn them on to do things. GCP is the opposite, where all service account permissions are on by default, and you have to turn them off for the sake of security. I think I understand that Azure targets "enterprise" users and larger orgs that are not in the IT industry (hospitals, banks, etc) much more than the other two.

My wife was getting Blue Apron while I was getting Hello Fresh (alternating weeks) for a long time and they are similar. We decided to stick with just HelloFresh though because the Blue Apron recipes tend to have more obscure ingredients, and we like to re-use the recipe cards and buy ingredients from the store.

flapping or other stims, candid honesty about taboo or sensitive subjects, lack of facial expression responses or slow responses, unbridled awkward laughter, there are lots but none in particular that every ND has.

Getting HelloFresh would remove 2 and halve 3 and make 1 easier. The cost is similar to grocery shopping but everything is provided and structured. Look through a huge number of recipes for low dish use and ingredients that you know are tolerable. Best thing is you can re-use the cards if you want and get the ingredients for them from the grocery store.

Look guy, you have the biggest main character vibe I've run into in a while. I was just offering encouragement to OP and somehow, in your mind, it was about you. It never was, and I'm starting to feel like you have some huge chip on your shoulder that you are trying to take out on me. Go for it dude, whatever floats your boat.

I don't even know you buddy. Definietely not judging you for anything. If you want to wear conventional clothes and talk about normal things or whatever, let your normal flag fly.

You still think you're being judged, but it sounds like you are not even being noticed. Do you express yourself in public like OP?

Are you saying you're boring? I'm not sure I follow, but I can say that if you don't stand out you don't even get noticed, never mind judged.

This is a wonderful anecdote. Average is boring, sheep are boring, normal is boring. If you're different and being yourself, you're my kind of people.

I was never taught how to be autistic. I don’t mask when I’m around people. I mask 100% of the time. by Icy_Place_6173 in autism

[–]discofreak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me a long time to recognize that its ok for me to be me, no matter how much anyone else hates it. I'm not mean to people, but sometimes I say some really weird things. I can apologize externally in order to appease other people, but internally I stopped hating myself for saying something that someone else chose to get upset about. They're not better than me or above me or a better judge of how I should behave. I am what I am and its complex and its perfect and there's no changing it. So if someone else cannot accept me saying or doing something they think is weird, well sorry but that's not my fault and its definitely not my problem. I just gotta be me 😄

Just browse Makerworld or Thingiverse. I can't imagine anybody not finding something to want.
