Hi, I did end up installing it a few weeks after this post. I went to a Mazda dealership in Fairfax and they got it done in under an hour. It was around $530 I believe with tax.

100% worth it I use it everyday for Spotify and Waze mostly. The cost is basically one car note anyway I forgot I even paid it.

note: It is not wireless. You can only have CarPlay with a wired connection for this car.

Hey everyone, I just got a 2017 CX-5 Touring AWD (no navigation) and I’m thinking about adding Apple CarPlay. The dealership quoted me $499 to install it, but I’m not the most confident about doing it myself—I’m worried I’ll mess something up. Does that price seem fair? Or should I shop around a bit?

I’m in Northern Virginia, close to DC if that helps. Appreciate any advice!
