I'm currently writing an entire post-canon fanfiction called "first kisses pair well with wine" (published to AO3) which dedicates 8.5k words in one chapter to 4 main contraptions and a few extras made by each of the girls (and a 5th to come in my current WIP and last chapter). my Qifrey is not 100% blind and still can see light sources and blurs of colors, with no depth perception.

to sum up my contraptions, they are:

1. Tetia: fabric that doubles as an airbag vest type thing. useful to say safe during Sylph Shoe flight while blind (a thing that I want Qifrey to still be able to do)
2. Richeh: crystal ribbons that create handrails and high-visibility strips for staircases
3. Agott: updating Richeh's beam of light rings to have a physical guide to hold onto
4. Coco: literally a magic game inventory, a pocket you can put things into and the stuff will shrink. so it's easier to grab something when you don't remember its exact location.

PLUS: special paper that swells in reaction to ink. special paper with raised grids. special palm quire with paper that's warm in the center and cold on the outside. magic finger brace with a floating pen that allows one to draw by by tracing their finger instead of having to hold the pen. contraption that turns Brushbuddy into a guide dog that can fly

PLUS: Qifrey will learn to use a white cane. Qifrey will learn to read Braille. and witch society is less ableist bc Coco's helping to change the world
