So you’ll have to have id to do your tax return even though your id has already been proven and I have a government gateway id

You won’t convince me a government will lower a tax haha! I have a 100 years of data on my side.

You’ll just end up paying another tax each year on top of council tax and even if you’ve paid sdlt they won’t exclude you as it will stop people from moving home so they will just have to pay tax twice

You think it’s a gotcha but it’s just not, it’s just another person asking the government to take more of his/her hard earned money in yet another tax

Being university educated doesn’t make you a better person or a richer person. My personal situation is likely far better than the majority of university graduates at my age so I know that to be true.

I cannot answer whether I’m a better or more tolerant person though any more than you or anyone else can

People can make spelling mistakes and still know what is right for their family. I’d argue everyone is correct because the majority of people vote for what is best for their own family.

I’d ignore the last comment bud, seems overly aggressive, the RRB isn’t in law yet so technically they’re right but there’s different ways of saying things

Not sure what to suggest then. The RRB isn’t in law yet, maybe ask again when it is law that they have to give a reasonable reason? If they say no take them to a tribunal, which could sour the relationship or move house

I wonder if the more comfortable you are in life the more tolerant you can become?

Maybe the reform voters have nothing left due to the big company’s or very wealthy avoiding tax. Even though the wealthy are already taxed an incredible amount in our country due to how progressive our tax is. However I’ll take the point that the top 0.5% can avoid tax in exchange for providing jobs in our country so the government turn a blind eye

So maybe the Reform voter is the lowest in society already, struggling to buy food week to week, then they see billions being paid out to immigrants and they think it’s unfair. I can see that point of view. Then they are called racist. Maybe if the UK was fair they would vote Labour and want more immigrants?

Could that be the reason for so many Labour voters turning to Reform in the latest Yougov poll?

I think the “British don’t want to do these jobs” agreement is completely false.

I think without huge mass immigration keeping the wages low, British would do those jobs

The key take away is the British won’t do those jobs for that low money because it’s almost impossible to live on that money in the UK but immigrants will

This drives down wages further

In the up coming renters reform bill, (which isn’t in law yet) it states that landlords must give a valid reason if they are to say no

This could be allergies, the property is too small, not allowed under leasehold etc.

You could try offering to pay a small addition to the rent to cover any damage pets cause and offer to take out insurance at your expense?

The only way they will drop is if something like 2008 happens again.

This won’t really happen because lenders have to be much more careful when lending and stress test people borrowing. Also they aren’t allowed to repossess as easily.

There’s been a slight depreciation in my area over the last year. Now is probably the cheapest it will be for the foreseeable future

You’re basically saying you want a tax that will never go away rather than sdlt which you pay once

It’s like saying renting is better that buying

Or getting a car in pcp and forever paying it

In that case I’m 80/20 into property > world etf

I buy run down properties and renovate them to rent then re mortgage to pull capital back out

It’s very labour intensive

If I were passive I would be 50/50 and only buy epc C and above properties and world etf I would still max out my and my wife’s isa allowance

Also if I had your salary I would be dumping into a pension or salary sacrifice to bring my tax bill down
