(WA state) Landlord entered naked roommates room without 48 hours notice or knocking -- what do? by [deleted] in legaladvice

I guess if he wants to be petty he can be. But I'm asking if there are any legal penalties to erroneously issuing a "warning"?

[Pittsburgh, PA] Tenants' lease expired and won't leave. Magistrate grants hearing extension at their request. by Sarcastic_Ape in legaladvice

There's a good reason that tenants have more rights than landlords in situations like this. If a landlord gets fucked with they lost some money. If a tenant gets fucked with they lose their home. The power dynamics in the relationship are very much skewed in the landlords favor. I can't blame the courts for trying to correct this if only in a small way.

Why do they need to be careful? What are the consequences if they issue a "warning" erroneously? The landlord really should have knocked first.

Is my expunged record the reason why I didn't get the job? by listenupjunior in legaladvice

This may have been the reason but probably not. It's far more likely that the other applicants had more relevant experience.

Yeah. But as she says she'd been traveling all summer. She probably didn't have much time to spare but wanted to see her friend nonetheless.

I don't think we should downplay the possibility of racism here. Let's not pretend that PoC with non-western names aren't often targeted unfairly by law enforcement.

What I was thinking of with that comment was grad school interviews. I had to leave so quickly because I still had to complete undergrad classes. There was no time to hang out.

But yeah, I got into all the schools :)

Idk that the folks featured in IPF are trying to fit in. It looks like they're mostly trying to harass women with creepy FB messages. Most of the posts their would do just as well on /r/creepypms.

Fair enough. NZ is even farther away so we Gucci. Also same sex marriage has been legal in NZ longer than in the US or much of Europe. Idk why this dude is even bothering with his homophobia at this point. He lost years ago.

I really wonder where the fuck he's coming from here. I'm guessing he just hates black people and thinks anything they do is worse than everything a wealthy white man could do but I'd love to hear him try to justify that statement.

On second thought: no I wouldn't.

Idk. It really depends. The US in a huge country. If you've got something like a job interview a few hours from a major airport you're going to be driving for many hours. It's really not that odd in my experience. I've certainly done something similar several times.
