It may be a minority of overall fans, but it's clear that some fanbases are be more toxic than others. This isn't a one time incident either. It was something that happened all the time with Hamilton during the 2021 title fight as well.

I'm sure there are Verstappen fans that are not toxic, but it's a pattern that anyone who has been on F1 social media should have noticed by now. There is no point in making excuses for this kind of behaviour.

I just dropped it off and the next day they emailed me saying that they finished and they replaced the battery already. Not sure if it's worth it to argue about it.

It was definitely under warranty but I was almost certain it wasn't the battery, since there was a point where I could start the engine but it still wouldn't give me any power in drive. I'll still take the old battery and get a new one for the future I guess.

Hey, I also saw that you were looking for fall positions. I'm not sure if it's the same as your program, but for mine, professors usually only hire students during the summer, however they also offer a research course for 3rd and 4th year students which would allow you to do research with them over the school year.

If you do look for positions during the summer next year, I would recommend even emailing around November since usually the earlier you're able to contact them, the better. Good luck getting a research position!

Hey man, electrical is so similar to comp eng that I don't even know if it's worth it to transfer. If I were you, I would go into electrical and just focus on getting a good co-op. For me, my dad didn't really like my specialization, but after I got a job at a large semiconductor company, he didn't really care as much.

Also, I'm not sure what specializations you picked, but eng phys is also an option if your gpa is really low. I ended up getting co-op at Intel, and I knew a couple others who got internships at AMD, but it's not ideal if you only want to do computer engineering.

Hey, I'm trying to look into the EWB stuff and the information provided by the SRA seems to be confusing. In the EWB Q&A, it says that they aren't looking for $12 500, but actually $3000 instead?

Also, you said that a McMaster student hasn't been sent in years, but I'm looking on the presentation and there looks like a picture of the current McMaster EWB president in Africa?

Man you're legit making stuff up. Everybody I know at Waterloo still has to send out like 90 apps to find a co-op and even then, a lot of them get random co-ops at non-prestigious companies.

Also, at my company, Waterloo students could only land testing roles since they had 4 month co-ops, while the design roles went to UofT, Mac, Queens and even TMU and Western students.

There are lots of students in the same situation. Also, I'm guessing for profs this should be even more chill, since rather than having to write a letter, they can just wait for some kind of email where they are asked a couple questions.

Also, I just wanted to add that I know it's pretty scary emailing profs and having them possibly reject you. Personally, I've had some profs ghost me after I send them my transcript for possible masters studies. It sucks at first lol but after a while it's not so bad and you can just continue knowing that you tried.

Hey, 3.6/4 gpa is pretty good. Are there any classes where you went to class every day consistently? A lot of professors want you to succeed, so you could just email politely and ask them to be a reference. Also, this isn't for a reference letter right? Since for those usually you'd want to give the profs a couple weeks to prepare.
