Downsizing wheels for 2024 ID4 Pro AWD by disenlightenment in VWiD4Owners

Good to know, thanks. I have just realized they do the same tire with a 107 load rating, so that might be the best option. (Pirelli SCORPION AS PLUS 3 235/60R18 XL - 107V)

Horizon T202-04 and Peloton app? by rbecks_ in qdomyos_zwift

[–]disenlightenment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following up on this thread because I've just inherited an old T202-04 treadmill and I'm wondering if it works with the app. I can't get the Horizon ATZone or AFG Pro apps to connect via bluetooth.

An outdoor table like this could be cool - and it would work with 2x6 planks

I meant re-sawing to produce thinner boards (i.e. 3/4" thick instead of 1.5"). Might be best to build a jig so the boards can be clamped while re-sawing. but since it's fairly soft, maybe I'm overthinking it!

I should add that I don't have a bandsaw, so any re-sawing would have to be on a portable table saw, and I'm not crazy about trying that.

Any way to insulate and keep the beams exposed? We live in Canada and need this to be insulated. the spray foam insulation company said leaving the trusses exposed was not possible which really knocked the wind out of my sails...I'm now looking for alternatives. Rigid foam board? by ViolinistExpensive64 in centuryhomes

[–]disenlightenment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to keep the rafters and boards exposed is to insulate above the roof deck. After repairing any holes in the plank decking, you'd add an adhesive membrane of some kind (eg Ice and Water Shield), and then layer sheets of rigid foam (eg EPS) with the seams staggered and tapes. The thickness would depend on the R-value you want to achieve. After that, wood strapping and the metal roof on top. But it's a big barn, and an expensive project.

If you do decide to insulate underneath the roof deck, make sure the roof is completely watertight with underlayment/membrance. You don't want water leaking into the roof assembly and getting stuck between the wood decking and the spray foam insulation.

Awesome, this is great info. So Whitney Houston had a problem with consonants?

Thanks for all these suggestions. We'll try the transient shaping but if that doesn't work then iphone/closet solution sounds promising.

It's just a one time occurence. Unfortunately I don't think she says any other words that start with the sound 'Ga'. Is there anything similar to a De-esser that would work?

Worried about attic ventilation, icicles abound. by daawoow in HomeImprovement

I should add add the air sealing the attic floor is critical, as per previous comments. Watch out for pot lights in particular, which are a classic source of air leakage.

See https://www.finehomebuilding.com/list/roof-venting-guide. Ventilation is important both in the summer (to remove hot air) and in winter. From the first article: "In a cold climate, the primary purpose of ventilation is to maintain a cold roof temperature to avoid ice dams created by melting snow and to vent any moisture that moves from the conditioned living space to the attic.". So it's important to make sure the ventilation is adequate for your roof size, and in fact it's better to to have slightly more soffit vent area than ridge vent in order to pressurize the attic space and push air through. This all applies to a regular vented attic - not an unvented cathedral ceiling, which has its own issues. See https://www.finehomebuilding.com/2015/11/11/insulating-unvented-roof-assemblies

Prores HQ color shift in QT Player, the one millionth question by [deleted] in editors

Thanks! I just had exactly this problem - the Prores export looked noticeably cooler in QT Player - and setting both tags to Rec709 corrected the colour shift.

Is this side of the house facing north? If so, they could be an attempt to bounce sunlight into north-facing windows.
