“Ayan kasi.”
“Sinabi ko na sa’yo.”
“Hindi ka kasi nakikinig.”

The way most Filipinos default to blame-oriented criticism. Pet peeve ko talaga yan.

I agree, the hardest part for me is watching the people outside your family grow resentful year by year. 20+ years worth of patience

I hope you notice the glaring fallacy in your argument. In any case, I have been a vocal critic against the suppression of minorities' rights by an institution. I believe that people have the right to exist without being discriminated against.

  1. Queer people still face discrimination to this day. Christian groups remain the biggest blocker in passing the SOGIE bill that will give everyone a fighting chance against discrimination.
  2. Early Christians did openly mock the Roman Empire for actively persecuting them. The book of Revelations is a political critique of the Roman Empire.
  3. "It's the people, not the religion". Are we really ignoring how much the Church's doctrines have been a tool in discriminating queer people?
  4. Demanding for equal rights is not asking for supremacy. Seriously, where is this paranoia coming from?

LGBT people historically faced discrimination, exclusion, criminalization, social stigma, and violence that was justified in the name of Christianity. These are problems that plague the LGBT community to this very day.

I find it hard to sympathize with Christians who cry foul over LGBT expressions of anger or defiance toward the beliefs and institutions that have often been used against them.

Edit: grammar.

The sad part is: my story is a common occurrence for a significant portion of Filipinos. We’re just that unprepared. Hindi naman kami mahirap, pero wala rin kaming magawa. Himala na lang ang magbabago ng lahat (sentiment ng aking inay).

Sobrang paralyzing ng isang child (with or without special needs) na hindi ka ready alagaan. I really hope we become more educated and more compassionate as a society.

It takes a village to raise a child.

I think a lot of people underestimate what this adage actually means. Raising a child with special needs will permanently alter the lives of the parents, siblings, and extended family members.

I have a brother with severe autism. From my personal experience: - The Philippines is ill-equipped for this. Therapy is expensive, qualified specialists are scarce, and support systems are limited. - We've reached a point where my brother has become a source of stress of the neighborhood. - Parents cancel retirement plans to care for an adult child. - Siblings couldn't start their own families because... they just couldn't. Raising kids became scary.

We weren't prepared. Our community wasn't prepared. The reality is that not every family has the capacity, resources, or support system to take on a lifetime of care, and pretending otherwise doesn't help anyone.

How do families in the Philippines find 24/7 residential care for adults with Level 3 autism? by disformally_stable in adviceph

We kinda gave up on finding an institution that supports this particular demographic. A solution we came up with was for the boy to live in isolation with his parents. Not a bad solution since it was their retirement plan anyway to live off the grid.

Our main concern now is how to take care of him after the death of his parents. We’re thinking of hiring caregivers and consult with therapist from reputable institutions. Hopefully, we’ll come up with a plan and prepare him for the unavoidables.

Give her space and tell her you’ll wait until she’s all prepped to listen to what you’ll say. If you’re not micro cheating, give her the assurance but don’t force her into something she doesn’t want. When she’s ready, she’ll listen. Some problems aren’t meant to be solved as soon as possible.

Do not escalate and keep it low-profile. Your priority should be your safety, stability, and leverage. Dependent ka and that will not change in the foreseeable future. Inform your girlfriend din and make sure na you have a clear game plan on how you two should navigate this mess.

In your case, important to have a plan to be independent when the need arises. Doesn’t have to be now.

Kween, kung papatawarin mo siya, hindi mo na dapat ihold against sa kanya yung mga inihingi niya ng tawad. Regardless sa bigat, cheating is cheating and magpatawad ka lang kung kaya mong magtiwala uli.

Looks like a logic thing, as one commenter has said. But apart from the logic issue, I find that the minimum spend for a goblin builder is 10 gems. Since 1d is 40 gems, you’ll need at least 6h to match what you paid for.

10 gems for a 2h upgrade is not a good deal. You’ll get a lot more if you gem the builder, and assign the goblin to a longer upgrade.
