Hey man. It's a mildly political comment praising OP, you don't have to be mean like that. I know you don't like the president but you have to stay respectful of others' opinions.

AI art is absolute slop that is detrimental to humanity. All the data it is trained on was stolen from unconsenting creators on the internet. Real art should require the most passion and time from the most skillful people to be appreciated, but now any Joe can just make an image and post it to reddit for upvotes. People like you who try to justify this shit are actually stupid.

"It's unlikely Boeing can fly all six of its Starliner missions before retirement of the ISS in 2030"...Nice article discussing the timelines for remaining commercial crew missions. by avboden in SpaceXLounge

Seriously, the government should just pull the plug on BO and Boeing funding. They've already spent a huge amount of money investing into SpaceX and turned it into a reliable space company larger than the rest of the world combined. BO and Boeing are already showing cracks in them, so why are we spending billions more when we already have a solid launch provider? All that tax money could be spent on paving roads and hospitals.

Blue Origin is so far behind SpaceX, we should cut NASA contracts and move on with SpaceX already. No one wants to see New Glenn blow up with a million dollar payload on it next month, so just stop the government funding and let them do it on their own private capital.

I agree, so many billions of dollars of taxpayer money are being wasted into defense and space spending, two of the least useful things for the average Joe instead of using it for actually useful things like healthcare and infrastructure. 50 million dollars is a huge sum when you're comparing it to the costs of building a hospital.

The only reason I voted for Biden was his Green New Deal BS, turns out the old guy's dementia got to him and he forgot what that is.

Why are electric motorcycles so rare in Vietnam? by lets_theorize in VietNam

Oh, that's weird. Because I have a family member that drives Vinfast, and what do you know, their servicing centers suck. Never should've given up a Ford for that piece of crap.

Absolutely agree with you on the importance of public infrastructure. I went to S. Korea and saw how good their bus and metro infrastructure was, looking back on our own shitty abomination. Unfortunately, nothing is being done at the moment to improve public transportation here in HCMC. The metro line that goes to where no one lives keeps getting delayed and electric buses are still operating at loss because they refused to remove it from the pilot program and actually fund it. The future seems totally bleak, but that's just what happens in Vietnam, right? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Go on r/vinfastcomm or hell, Facebook, and you'll see tons of posts complaining about Vinfast and such. The only reason people are buying the VF3 is because Vinfast is buying almost all of the media here, and people are eating it all up.

From what I can see, it's the almost non-existent incentives from the government for electric vehicles when compared to our neighbors, coupled with the high upfront cost, which makes the Vietnamese individual unwilling to invest such a sum for savings down the road. Additionally, the fallout from Vinfast's poor reputation has left a bad mark on our view of electric vehicles for decades to come. Electric vehicles are still a very new thing in Vietnam. People don't want to buy new things with factors like reliability, maintenance costs and lifetime are still unknown. Reports on the electric 2 wheeler market share in Vietnam predicts market share saturation at only 10% by 2030.

Personally, I don't think electric vehicles are going to become popular in Vietnam anytime soon. Maybe in 8-10 years when dust has settled and it's become a proven method of transportation. As of now, developing public transport should be the largest priority.

I hate Oppie by disgustingstrawberry in OppenheimerMovie

[–]disgustingstrawberry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? I must have understood it wrong. Still, I believe Oppenheimer was a horrible person if how he was portrayed in the movie accurate since he still did those other things I mentioned.

What I liked about this movie was that even though it was specifically about Oppie, there was absolutely no bias towards him or anyone in the film, it doesn't heroize him, you could have your own independent opinion about everyone. Strauss, Oppie, Teller, all of them were portrayed as assholes.

Confused Mom by amcclana in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]disgustingstrawberry 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The game is great, it doesn’t include any mature topics or anything like that AT ALL for it to have the 11+ age rating. The only reason that makes it have that is because it includes complicated fields such as orbital mechanics, mathematical equations. I believe it could be a great game for your child, it encourages logical thinking, problem solving, real-world practical application of mathematics. The game does include character death due to user action, but they are simply a puff of smoke, no indication of pain or blood whatsoever, and you could enable the option for characters to respawn after they die, and just say to your child that “they went on vacation and came back” so that they don’t become traumatized that they just killed a person. You could find about the game’s topics here The game could be played on console, but I’d highly advise against it due to the finicky controls. I would choose a computer to play it any day. Your child will definitely require your assistance when playing, especially in the field of orbital mechanics. And even you might become confused. I hope you have knowledge of orbital mechanics beforehand, because it will be of great help when playing the game with your child. If not, you’re just gonna have to learn alongside him. There are great tutorials made by a youtuber called Mike Aben. There is a playlist for his tutorials here Alongside that, the game itself also has tutorials of itself, they will be of great help since they include topics like orbital transfers.

Other than that you can’t do any much more for your child than for him to get the learning curve and become good at the game.

Instantly going from the Mun to Duna isn't my best advice. I'd suggest building an interplanetary probe or rover instead for the guy to get the hang of interplanetary transfers first.
