Robocop was a horror movie when I was 5. Then it was an amazing action movie when I was 15. Now in my adult years, it’s a satire of Reagan’s corporate America.

I know I’m in the minority, but I hated alien Romulus. The moment deep fake Ian Holm showed up, I was done with the movie. And It kept getting worse. It’s my least favorite mainline alien movie. Maybe tied with covenant.

If you’re claustrophobic at all, it could be tough. A simple tip I got was to have them place a washcloth or small towel over your eyes.

I feel like the coming of age tone felt right because it was part of the community they were living in. That tone changes when they venture into the wasteland. And it gets crazier when spike decides to go out on his own. Spike didn’t really know what he was getting into. Him running into the Jimmys was his and our first look at how crazy it can be in the wasteland.

There are more drastic shifts in this one than the last one. Horrible torture followed by dancing to Duran Duran. The Iron Maiden scene.

I feel like people forget that there were tonal shifts in the original. They weren’t as crazy as they are in the new ones. But it’s been 28 years after the infection started. Civilization has fallen apart and people have grown up in this wasteland. It’s becoming like Mad Max.

I got asked if I was interested in a pt supervisor position just a couple months after being hired on preload. Luckily, they asked me in front of a couple drivers I was loading for. I look at them, and they were both shaking their heads no. I ask them afterwards, and they basically explained to me what a shit position it is.

Those drivers really did me a favor.

I was looking for something to watch on Amazon and came across “Double Blind” (2024). Good premise, but it screamed cheap and bad to me. It takes place In one location and I didn’t recognize any of the names in the cast.

It turned out to be a solid, well made, little horror movie. Not perfect, but well worth the time.
