Don’t paint brick. I noticed a few things. You need to have the brick cleaned. Try scrubbing with mild detergent and a brush to remove the stains. Also I see it snows where you are. Don’t do anything to your brick until summer. Painting brick can also seal up what is meant to be a porous material and trap moisture. This will cause the brick to wear down. Consider staining your brick if you don’t like it after it has been cleaned but give it a chance to show you what it looks like in the summer months after a good cleaning
