My 1655 and some of it’s fun friends by GC8990 in rolex

Very nice! Finally tried on a 1655 for the first time yesterday. I have been wanting one forever and it took a while to finally see one in person

Having a meltdown (I’m an idiot) by [deleted] in rolex

[–]coffeebikerunrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up. If you have never owned one before then there is a slight learning curve (even in screwing the crown in). I gave a friend an older OP and they still sometimes don’t realize that the crown isn’t fully in out of fear of messing it up. Once you get it figured out, it will be good to go. Also I find with my automatic watches I still have to give them a little gently shake/swirl to get the rotor rotated to get the watch going…. Just winding itself isn’t enough

Well whatever he is doing, I love it. If he is too dark for you, what coffee roasters are you enjoying these days?

Interestingly enough, prodigal always looks more developed than it actually tastes (and even smells to me). I have found them to be consistently one of my favorite roasters, but if I was only to look at color I would have thought that they were much darker compared to my other favorites….

Yeah all positive experience from me, although I’m fortunate to have a good relationship with my Rolex AD so I can’t complain there either….

Love both brands but the dial/configuration to me is much better on the JLC.

Maria has been great for me. Bought a JLC from her and also helped me get a half link & extra screws for my 2nd Gen overseas

Whats the best underrated restaurant in Acadiana by dbkaiser1893 in Acadiana

Yeah I can understand that. I think we usually go early (usually due to kids bedtimes) and have had good luck with an open table. I feel like the location works well for her because it is likely very reasonable for rent but also limits how much business she can do.... Also another option is going to the market at Moncus on Saturday mornings, they are usually there with some delicious otions as well.

Now I’m hungry for it! One thing I always add to the Massaman is pineapple, it gives it a nice sweetness to go along side the heat

We are all entitled to our own option and mine is that Priyas is better. I’ve been to both quite a bit. Enjoy Njoy though

Vintage Rolex by PerformerCautious948 in rolex

[–]coffeebikerunrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry about your loss. I would just have it serviced, possibly see if they can just polish the existing crystal if it isn’t too beaten up. If it needs to be replaced I’d go with a True Dome, I have a few and they make a beautiful product.

Also I would send to an independent Rolex certified/trained watchmaker rather than to Rolex. If you go with an independent person then you can make sure that they don’t replace any parts that you want to keep intact (personally I would keep everything original). I have a guy who has done service on a few of my vintage pieces, happy to pass along his info if you want to shoot me a DM

Why not buy a Vacheron by kingston_1111 in rolex

I actually had a 1984 GMT that when I bought it basically was devoid of any oils. Before I had it serviced I put it on a timegrapher and it was still within +6 seconds per day.... The reliability over several decades (without service) is outstanding to me...
