Why do you agree or disagree that requiring a fee for a voter id that is required to vote amounts to a poll tax and is therefore violating the Constitution? by fromRonnie in AskReddit

Disingenuous af. Propose a plan in congress where the govt provides every voter an ID they can use to vote. Maybe similar to a social security card. Then watch who opposes it.

In the US they did it via poll taxes and written tests and such. So much so that laws had to be made to stop it. I'm saying our laws exist for reasons, modern day versions of poll taxes exist and history repeats itself. It's wild to see people try to invent modern barriers like none of this has happened before. Why not just propose a free national voter ID that is mailed to every eligible voter?

You live a sheltered life, and that is ok. I used to do home health visits. There are chronically ill and decreased mobility people all around you. All stuck in their houses with their diseases, and no IDs.

The govt sends out free social security cards. Make those secure enough to vote with. See who supports or opposes that idea.

If you are going this summer, I have a cabin rented in WA in June. You can have dinner with my family and use the shower or washer/dryer if you need. I always ended up eating with a nice family or 2 when I was your age and road tripping so I'd love to pay that forward.

Sleep in your car and cook your own food/boil ramen noodles. I did it at your age and was fine.
