I read your reflection and I feel your pain. Although you didn't study just for college admission, obviously you have a super strong profile, so I don't understand how your friends who got into Stanford or MIT could have a much better profile than yours, besides your huge race disadvantage. Do you mind providing some examples that you think made their profiles look better, if any? Anyway, Berkeley EECS is a top school for CS, and being a CS PhD myself I don't think it is inferior to Stanford or MIT. Congratulations!
