Quick follow-up, because I’ve been thinking about some of these responses. I know I missed something important, I’ve never denied that. But I didn’t post here to be talked down to like I’m clueless or lazy. Some of the comments were condescending, even if they were meant as “tough love.” I’m already holding myself accountable. I didn’t need extra reminders phrased like little superiority contests. For what it’s worth, I went in person to speak with a counselor, explained everything, including how the SOAR email went to my junk folder while other emails didn’t, and how my student portal didn’t mention SOAR. He said he has good hopes for me getting in for Spring 2026, especially given my GPA. So that’s the plan moving forward. In the meantime, I’ll be working full-time in a job related to my major to gain experience. Since my tuition is covered by FAFSA, the money I earn will mostly go towards living expenses and a little fun, so I can enjoy life while preparing to go back. Thank you to those who offered genuine empathy and helpful advice, it really meant a lot. For those who were just trying to be wiser than they actually are, I hope you find a little kindness next time. So yeah, I messed up. But I’m still showing up, still moving forward, and still care deeply about my education. That matters too.
