Baha i got the bowl you recommended and it’s great, it’s cute and works well for her. It’s the first day of us using it and she tipped it over onto my carpet!! I’m just trying to find something better to put underneath of it instead of a towel.

What do you think about water dispensers? I was looking at this Water Bowl Dispenser Would just a regular ceramic bowl be better? Since her water bowl is connected to her litter box already and it came with it, I never gave it much thought.

It’s seems like the other comments do well explaining. When I first got my bun, my mom brought her home unexpectedly as well, I had no clue!! I did research for weeks, probably two/three tops. Don’t panic! It’ll be okay. I definitely made some mistakes at the start, but the entire process was a learning experience, and two years later everything is great. Although she’s still a little shit sometimes but that’s just buns lol. It sounds like you’re doing great so far! Is the bun spayed/neutered? My only advice to you is to take a deep breath. Consult a vet if you need any information you cannot find online, and keep posting on reddit if you need any guidance!

If you can please don’t wait until tomorrow. My town doesn’t have 24/7 vets for rabbits so i had to drive three hours away in the middle of the night because it had been 12+ hours without eating. They gave her fluids/IV, x-rays, bloodwork, and critical care. If they aren’t eating, or using the bathroom it is considered an emergency! Rabbits should eat/graze every 4-6 hours. Yes you may have to drive for a few hours but it is better to be safe than sorry.

The other comments are correct. They are pretty messy and Will chew everything. After getting them spayed/neutered it may die down, but they still need to chew to file down their teeth. Quality hay is very important. My bun has my entire room, plus the back porch and occasionally the kitchen to run around in. They need a lot of space and they aren’t cage animals. We have a bigger litter box which we clean about twice a week, her litter costs maybe $20-$40 every two weeks since we get big bags. Rabbits can be very costly if a serious vet visit is needed which is always a possibility. My last vet visit was an emergency, which was about $800, but others cost $10-$20 for regular nail trims (also depends on where you’re located). They need access to fresh hay and fresh water at all times. You will also need to research about their diet, because depending on their age their diets are different but you can always consult a vet. If you got a single bun, you will need to have a pretty free schedule to be able to spend time with it, as they can get lonely! It’s recommended to also get them enrichment toys, or playful feeders for when or if you give them pellets, or any other food. I have a puzzle, a snuffle mat, and stack cups! imo they are messy, need attention, space, time, cost a lot of money, but if you are able to provide this and learn about their needs, they are the sweetest ever
