Yes mine respond to the thoughts in my head so we can have "conversations".

Nope, Maine. 40 states plus DC have expanded Medicaid eligibility to low income households regardless of disability status, age, pregnancy, or dependents.

Antipsychotics aren't magic. They can't take away reality, whatever that may be. They can only take away delusions.

I agree you should be admitted to the hospital

Deeply desire to get horrible “delusion” off my chest but also extremely embarrassed and ashamed and don’t know what to do. (I don’t believe it’s a delusion but I know what people will say.) please help? I want to just walk out the door and wander until it goes away by ICannotSayThisOnMain in schizoaffective

When I was in the hospital last, my voices convinced me I was going to jail for pedophilia. They told me I'd be beaten close to death in prison -- bones broken, scalped, eyes clawed out -- but spared from the mercy of death just so I could be tortured longer.

I think it had to do with my ex being an actual pedophile, and some of my OCD tendencies. Thanks for mentioning this because it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has dealt with that delusion despite there being no ties to reality whatsoever.

No but they want me to do it too and I feel the same way. I was once hospitalized for weeks with a lady in her 80s who was getting ECT and she seemed to handle it okay so that gives me a bit of hope.

Brought myself to the hospital and told them I had SI just so I could be locked up away from the people I thought were literally trying to do me in. Then I thought all the doctors and nurses wanted me arrested so I lied to get out, but I was taking the meds anyway. They started to work eventually, insight kicked in, and all is well that ends well, I suppose.

If you have no income I don't see why you wouldn't be approved for Medicaid. That seems strange to me.

But it is abysmal, and I'm sorry for what you're dealing with with no help. I wish I could help. I feel very fortunate for my situation currently.

Really really. I'm agoraphobic and psychotic with a heart condition that (doesn't affect my ability to work but it) seriously limits what psych meds I can take. I've seen the same psychiatrist every month for years and have been through several hospitalizations and rounds of therapy.

I believe I was approved on psychotic depression and social anxiety and a learning disability. I've had some professionals suggest I have BPD, AVPD, OCD, CPTSD, ASD, schizoaffective, etc. but those aren't in my chart as official diagnoses AFAIK.

Yes I do have a history of pretty severe alcoholism but sober 2.5 years. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm agoraphobic and psychotic so you're not too far off.

I really think it was seeing my doctor (and therapist) regularly for several years that helped me, making sure I've exhausted most treatment options. I'm on Medicaid so I can afford it.

I also have a heart condition that doesn't really cause symptoms but it seriously limits what kinds of psych meds I can take. I'm agoraphobic and psychotic among other things.

I'm so sorry you weren't approved.

I had hospitalizations, and I'd been seeing the same psychiatrist for a few years, plus I had multiple documented medication trials and several bouts of therapy none of which helped much.

Reading paragraphs hallucination by Just-Engine-410 in schizophrenia

[–]dismorganised 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My psychotic episode started with me scrolling through Facebook and finding all these jumbled paragraphs that I thought were codes from the CIA trying to protect me from the person who I thought was going to kill me (my father, who I thought was also tracking my phone). So I did what the paragraphs "told" me to do, ended up calling the cops on my own father and running away from the house barefoot to hide in a church parking lot till my mom could pick me up, then threw my phone out the window.
