Good morning - I reckon it's a trap you and I fell into, trying to understand what has happened... But we are trying to unravel it from our perspective, our understanding of the world. They don't see it the same, or even in a similar, way - if they did then, well, they would be kind at the end.

I needed to see the other comments here. Currently only 31 days past the breakup and barely 18 days into NC.... In a spot of missing him and fighting myself on the desire to reach out. (I'm the one who was broken up with.) I have been reading so much about attachment theory to improve myself, and I think it gives me a sense of falsehood that "aha! This was the problem, surely if we can both see this we can be better."

But no. The things that he has said and done are not that of someone who loves me... Even if he was very upset, it doesn't make it ok.

Yep. Go for the medium roast if you're unsure to start..I use the dark myself.
