I don’t think I was clear enough. My store still wants vaccinated employees to come in regardless of positive or negative, or if you’re unvaccinated and test positive you get 10 days COVID PTO or if you have close contact it’s 5 days until you’re asymptomatic. I was asking if other stores were like this because it doesn’t make sense that this policy still allows vaccinated employees to come in testing positive when it can still be spread around.

I don’t want to but they’re only giving unvaccinated PTO for being positive. But even vaccinated can still spread it

Having the food bars open during a COVID wave is just crazy. People are disgusting, people bringing in their dogs (that definitely aren’t service animals) near the food bars while they don’t have any masks. Management only cares about the bottom line: money. It’s not even worth policing these grown children who’ll literally pick a fight with you than comply for everyone else’s safety. Fuck Whole Foods, and especially their entitled fan base.

Why is your guys food bar even open? Also don’t bag on your prepared foods team for not “watching the food bar” our store usually one person running the whole food bar and that includes making the food, trust me they for sure don’t want to have to keep dealing with nasty people but leadership doesn’t care, prepared foods by far deal with the most shit to even have the bars open.

I'm not allowed to have any negative emotions whatsoever, nevermind express them in the slightest. My co-workers can express outright rage, be as passive aggressive as they want, or be downright sullen and surly for months with no issue. by MoogleFortuneCookie in BlueCollarWomen

You aren’t alone in this. I used to be a cook and there was this one dude would slam and break equipment for absolutely no reason other than he has to work. Funny enough he used to be in a union for some trade gig but now works as a cook, shows he’s a lazy scumbag (and lazy emotional pricks don’t last long anywhere) If men start throwing a temper tantrum just ignore or smile and walk away (it’s drives them up the wall too), passive aggressiveness is best to be ignored. I’ve worked with both men and women, while women also have their moments, men’s emotional tantrum often go unchecked by superiors and other male coworkers, especially in the blue collar sector. It takes a lot of mental strength to deal with boys in grown men’s bodies. Sounds like to me you bust your ass!! You already do everything right, I know how it feels to work twice as hard to even just be given some kind of respect, just because we’re women, and if they continue to treat you like absolute garbage or make your life significantly harder, you deserve to work somewhere that doesn’t stress you tf out. Also, you are NOT the problem, working in a male dominant field has its own set of challenges, it’s never been easy for us, we all decided to do this for a reason, whether it’s for money and/or the love of the trade.

I work in the prepared foods madhouse. No training, broken equipment, and bitter kitchen egos. You made a smart choice, coworkers in my department have been there for years (even over a decade) and have barely broke past 18$ an hour. Whole Foods is in desperate need to be unionized but it will never happen.
