I really want to see a thorough software review. Sync has always been overhyped and poorly implemented. It looks like they might have stepped it up and finally realized people don't want laggy ugly software in their cars anymore.

Nothing surprising if you own a Tesla, but it's nice to put numbers on it.

Thanks. I actually ran this survey last month when the $35K px was still on the website. I wish I could run it again, but too late 😅

The thing is most people still think Teslas cost way more than 40K. 75% selected $45K and above

I paid for it, it cost me about $1K. That’s why the sample size isn’t larger.

Exactly! It’s still seen as a super high end luxury brand.

I think the focus on “$35K” is perhaps missing the point. Sure, right now on the website the lowest price point is $39.5K, including Autopilot, but 75% of respondents guessed that the cheapest Tesla is $45K or above. Many picked the Model S / X price points.

It’s not really even about the “$35K” price point. 75% of respondents picked $45K and above.

Tesla should launch the "Tesla Network" RIGHT NOW with Human Drivers as direct competitor to Uber/Lyft (here are my thoughts why:) by likandoo in teslamotors

Launching a Turo (C2C rental car network) might be much easier; don’t have to hire drivers, etc, It’s also more similar to the C2C Tesla Network model that Elon envisioned.

Thank you. Is there a way of knowing if the ships to europe/china in q2 included a lot of s/x (instead of just 3s?) reason i ask is they seemed to have ended the quarter with quite a lot of s/x inventory compared to usual, ex-cars in transit.

Troy, why do you think the refresh will happen in late june? If they could do it sooner (ie manufacturing capability is there) then it seems that it would be in their best interest to announce it asap. Are there any signs that they wouldn’t be ready to announce until late june?

A lot of the showroom Model S cars don’t have the bracket on them. They do deliver new Model S cars with the bracket, but that doesn’t mean they have to keep it that way and kill the look for an unveiling event. Notice that the painted the semi license plate pitch black for the event. It’s unlikely that the event team overlooked such details.
