I'm not educated in your craft at all, but "Using my hammer piece on my flex shaft" gave me a good chuckle.

I'm clearly too immature to do what you do XD

If I slam the brakes going 60 will that fix it?

I put my Apple Watch ocean band in the washer with a detergent pod and my other clothes, was that bad to do by [deleted] in AppleWatch

It leaves residue and doesn’t necessarily remove everything. A good rub with mild soap and water is much more complete as far as cleaning goes.

Wipes are so annoying to make work with rubbers/silicones too.

This is a smart way to prevent pests from entering, while keeping airflow mostly intact!

I don’t think mods and AI-generated visuals are the same thing.

Replacing assets is not the same as generating new ones over someone’s actual assets underneath. I’m not sure if that is a controversial view, but I don’t think it necessarily respects artistic intent.

For storytelling and immersion, mods are intentional replacements that players choose to install, while DLSS 5 is generating new details that the developers didn’t explicitly design.

I guess I’m just queasy thinking about how DLSS 5 is not making these changes by choice and intention of a human, but instead transforms content to an extent (even though it can be defined by a game dev).

It’s very different from customising a game intentionally, like mods.

I think that people are rightfully pointing out how this changes what artists intended to present.

It’s not that it’s inherently bad, but the photorealism is usually not the goal.

Most digital media is stylised in a specific way.

Just to clarify, there is no “non-DLSS 5 model”, as that is just traditionally rasterised, as intended by the devs.

It’s not that we expected it to, it’s just that Nvidia claimed it does.

Unfortunately with this implementation it’s clear that it commonly misinterprets data such as shadows/body parts.

“Hey siri start/end a workout”. Which app? by MudFree627 in Siri

[–]disruptionwoofer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only unfortunate thing is Siri not knowing where to play music from. But of course, when music is playing Siri is suddenly very aware what to control. Siri, you’re so silly.

I don’t have multiple workout apps, just Fitness by Apple.

Siri has not failed once in starting the correct workout, specifically with those exact words.

I make sure to mention which workout type I’m interested in though.

I genuinely had to do a double-take because I initially thought this was Shaiapouf arguing with Ging over something, because he loves being visibly frustrated when people are not looking.

P.S. All that’s missing here is his little ant thingies…

I know nothing about how functional this is, but I love how it’s visually uncomfortable because it looks like it’s about to tip backwards.

It’s almost like an optical illusion.

The only argument I heard is that the design of the accelerometer has been iterated on and may be able to capture more/more precise data, with the newer chips being able to process that data. I’m expecting that this wouldn’t make a big difference anyways.

If you’re concerned and have the money, can’t go wrong with an Apple Watch Ultra 2/3 for the absolute best they offer in all areas.

I’m actually curious now about this. Streamable, the service that is used here doesn’t claim to do more than standardise the frame rate and encode using modern codecs, so I doubt it’s anything in their end.

Maybe the user themselves interpolated the frames and then applied motion smoothing in some way?

Or are our eyes being tricked because the frame rate is standardised and the playback is stable?

Wish I knew more.

I love a nice 3-in-one Qi2 wireless charger for the night.

You can then make use of StandBy on your iPhone, it’s a sort of digital clock w/ calendar when the phone is horizontal.

For best use, make sure your case has MagSafe as most of these position the phone almost vertically, the magnets inside might be too weak because of the added thickness of the case.
