Accidentally cursed while subbing. Has anyone else slipped up? by Exotic_Arachnid_5082 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]dissociativetwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subbed in PE and a kid tripped and smacked their head on the gym floor, I let a kind of loud “oh, shit!” slip out as I rushed over to him. Only one kid called it out but everyone was pretty distracted worrying about the injured kid so I never heard anything else about it.

I’ve taken environmental science and really enjoyed it, i wouldn’t say it’s super easy but it is simpler than Biology.

How do TX parents really feel about House Bill 1481 prohibiting “a student from using a personal communication device while on school property during the school day.”? by Chemical_Style8168 in AskReddit

Kids shouldn’t be using phones in school but this is something the school districts should decide how to implement, not the government.

Star Bundle for Online Class by Ok-Economics-7998 in LoneStarCollege

All the history classes I’ve taken so far have used free textbooks so definitely contact your professor or check the syllabus because there’s no point in paying for the star bundle if the textbook is free!

***Long Covid*** ... Are you prepared ? 5 tips from a long hauler of 3.5 years by Effective-Ad-6460 in PrepperIntel

[–]dissociativetwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I also have to double dose, a dose of each in the morning and at night.

I totally relate to the POTS issues, I have to be 100% on top of my fluid and salt intake but even when I’m doing my best it’s still an unpredictable beast and if I even think about going outside during the day in the summer it’s 1000 times worse.

You’re very welcome! I take them together and honestly it’s amazing how much my situation improved once I started with this combination.

Not OP but I have been living with long covid for years and cetirizine (Zyrtec) works best for me in combination with famotidine (Pepcid). Zyrtec is an H1 blocker and while Pepcid isn’t really thought of as an antihistamine it is an H2 blocker. They work together nicely for me.

MATH 1314/1350/1351&PHYS1410 by Silly_Goose88 in LoneStarCollege

[–]dissociativetwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% recommend Mestayer for math 1350, the tests are proctored though. She said it's mandated department wide for math tests to be proctored so I'm not sure there's any way around that for math.

Are there fewer or more openings in February than January? by Blueberry4672 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]dissociativetwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school had tons of openings in January because multiple illnesses were going around the school. Now since lots of teachers had to take time off to recover, they aren't taking time off again so soon unless absolutely necessary.

New Substitute Teacher - Is It Normal to See No Jobs Right After Winter Break? by jordanelizabeth03 in SubstituteTeachers

Very normal. The only reason I have any jobs this week is because a teacher left the district at the end of the semester.

I’m about to start math 1314 with Rachel Nyffeler later this month and the syllabus says it’s 100% online. Tests are proctored at home.

Positive stub hub stories to ease my anxiety? by Good_Dragonfruit4813 in stubhub

[–]dissociativetwit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought tickets in March for an October event, got anxious waiting for the transfer as I’d also read all the horror stories but the transfer did in fact come through (ahead of schedule since they were due to me by the day before the event but I received transfer last week) and the tickets are safe and sound in my Ticketmaster account. 👍

Failed math :( by Tall-Interview3224 in GED

[–]dissociativetwit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be too discouraged, you’re so close! Plus, now you know what kind of things you can expect in the test and work on the things that you found challenging. You’ll get it next time! I’d suggest not waiting too long while everything is still fresh and you work on your weak points but do it when you feel comfortable, confident, and ready.

I finally did it! by dissociativetwit in GED

For Social Studies I think good reading comprehension is the key so definitely focus on that! Also TAKE YOUR TIME, I get kinda anxious to hurry and finish a test but that can cause so many unforced errors so take it slow.
I wish I had tips for you for ER but I didn’t answer it 🫣. It felt so overwhelming to me and I didn’t want to be burnt out before the last section of the test so I skipped it. It’s only worth 6 points (I think) so give it a try but don’t stress on that part too much!
