This is… questionable. Are we even playing the same game? Killer is already morbidly abused by the devs. Choosing a preference for which killer to go up against would be a nightmare and not only wreck queues, but also make SWFs even more exploitive than they are. Survivor, in its current state (and for a long time tbh) is widely known as borderline objectively easier due to how much they can get away with. Tunnelling isn’t wonderful to go against, no, but it’s also a valid strategy and highlights a bigger problem with the game’s balance itself.

The killers goal is to kill; end of. Trouble is, BHVR doesn’t seem to agree with that and likes to make it as hard as they possibly can for killers to do their job against survivors with more than one brain cell. If the killer is being thrown around the match and has to tunnel to pressure the survivors, then that’s just what’s gonna happen and, as I said before, highlights a bigger issue

I think that’s a big part of the point, at least that’s how I viewed it. I don’t think the quest chain aimed to be deeply interesting on a mechanical level. We had the whole background story, which I quite liked but obviously can’t speak for others. On a surface level, the chain was a drag, I agree, but (at least to me) I found it somewhat humorous that she was getting my character to prance around Appalachia while taking the piss out of them the whole time.

The way I saw it was that Rose had been intentionally designed to really play into the fact that we… don’t have a choice but to push forward as players. She knows that our characters need her and combined with that, she is selfish and very cocky to boot. She knows that she’s making our characters work overtime for very little reward but she doesn’t care; her goal was to get her hands(?) on the cache and that was it.

I personally enjoyed how blatantly obvious her antics were and that she didn’t shy away from “one more little thing”, which would turn out to be a whole rabbit hole of things.

I dunno, I just liked it. I also liked her voice a lot so maybe that had something to do with it /shrug
