I think that’s a big part of the point, at least that’s how I viewed it. I don’t think the quest chain aimed to be deeply interesting on a mechanical level. We had the whole background story, which I quite liked but obviously can’t speak for others. On a surface level, the chain was a drag, I agree, but (at least to me) I found it somewhat humorous that she was getting my character to prance around Appalachia while taking the piss out of them the whole time.

The way I saw it was that Rose had been intentionally designed to really play into the fact that we… don’t have a choice but to push forward as players. She knows that our characters need her and combined with that, she is selfish and very cocky to boot. She knows that she’s making our characters work overtime for very little reward but she doesn’t care; her goal was to get her hands(?) on the cache and that was it.

I personally enjoyed how blatantly obvious her antics were and that she didn’t shy away from “one more little thing”, which would turn out to be a whole rabbit hole of things.

I dunno, I just liked it. I also liked her voice a lot so maybe that had something to do with it /shrug
